Appalachian and lowland folk songs

What are your thoughts on me uploading some tracks online? I am unsure if there is any real point in doing so, given that most people probably won't care about them anyway...😳

I just picked up a vintage hi-fi stack and some old MP3 players for the basement, my workshop, and all that kind of stuff....

It just crossed my mind—you should really look into joining a Cooperative... nobody ever complains about those things...

But then again, there are those who are.
Don't forget about "Starting oneself in Appalachia." Some people think "Vesel" is the definitive anthem for us Hillbillies, but if you ask me, "Starting oneself in Appalachia" should have taken the top spot long ago.

You're right. "Suza" is the original Appalachian blues. Zvonko Špišić is basically the Appalachian Lightnin' Hopkins.🙂
Personally, I think the version by Lepa Cajt is just as good. It wouldn't be bad to hear that live sometime.

Khm, there was a slight typo in the previous post... It wasn't wiredbadger24 who recorded "Suzu" for the Appalachian hills, but rather the Boy from the Hills.

I assume Dana Anderson4 and Raymond Barrett12 have never actually been to a concert by any local Appalachian band (not talking about the Cooperative here). I'd highly recommend it; those parties are ten times more fun than all those club gigs in downtown Chicago combined (no disrespect to Howe Gelb).

I'll post once I finish setting up a page on my computer.

From the folk groups in Appalachia down to those coastal ensembles, through the plains and the southern coastlines...
We really are a rich nation when it comes to musical heritage. Personally, though, I’ve always had a soft spot for the sounds coming out of the Midwest.
