My mother-in-law just had this little growth under her right eye removed—it was basically acting like an itchy mole, so they went ahead and cut it out. She just got her discharge papers from the clinic, and it says here: Basalioma solidum exulceratum cutis (in toto) (I’m assuming her husband transcribed 😬 correctly).
I guess if anyone actually knows what that means, could you let me know?
Thanks!😘

Basalioma solidum exulceratum cutis (in toto)

So—full disclosure here—I am certainly no medical professional; my expertise lies much more in the nuances of linguistics, so I cannot offer any clinical guidance—but!
A basal cell carcinoma is a type of tumor, "cutis" refers to the skin, and "in toto" essentially means entirely or in its entirety. Perhaps the term "exulceratum" implies an ulcerated mass? I can't be certain, though it sounds quite descriptive. Regardless, if you are looking for the gist of it, you could essentially bypass the technicalities of "basalioma," "cutis," and "in toto" to understand the core meaning.🙂.
