If you’re referring to that sequel from the 80s, the consensus is that it's pretty terrible (I have zero intention of sitting through 😁). However, if you mean the remake's sequel, that hasn't hit theaters just yet. From what I've gathered, the few people who caught a sneak preview say it leans much harder into the action and cranks up the violence compared to the original.

That remake sequel? It's already leaked online and available for download.

Who knows what kind of sequel they could pull out of a terrible movie like that! But honestly—you can pretty much get away with anything when you're targeting kids...

🙂 The Hills Have Eyes (2006) actually turned out to be a pretty solid horror flick..

What's the deal with the recorded duo? Sounds interesting—I haven't seen it yet, so I definitely need to check that out.

It seems like they're already filming the sequel....
I found the first installment to be a bit dull, and since the second one will likely just be more of the same, I suspect it won't offer much in terms of actual quality.

well... i am.
i called it a "movie"—but honestly, those hills deserve way more than just a flick...

I don't know—personally, I thought it was a total disaster, especially compared to Silent Hill! It felt so shallow and boring—honestly, it's been a long time since I've sat through something that tedious.

I thought the gore scenes were solid, and it actually had a slightly deeper plot than the first one... though I'm still skeptical about whether a sequel will hold up.

Don't tell me the original is actually the weaker one!?
I've got both versions at home—though I only checked out the remake since my wife won't touch black-and-white films—and honestly, after seeing the new one, I've lost all interest in revisiting the original. I just don't see how you could make a great movie out of a story like this. And after your comment... well, any desire I had left is pretty much gone.

I actually own both versions at home, but I decided to check out the remake since my wife isn't really into black-and-white films. After seeing this one, I don't even feel like revisiting the original anymore. Honestly, I just don't see how you could make a truly great movie out of a story like this. And after reading your comment, I think my interest is officially gone.
Don't take my word for it. I saw the original ages ago—way back before the war. But if my memory serves me right, the first one was really just a standard slasher.

Nope—they’re basically identical and share the same core premise—though I guess you could say the remake offers a much sharper critique of the U.S. government 🙂

True, but it’s handled rather clumsily. That scene where they shove the American flag down someone's throat while patriotic music plays comes off as—to use the local idiom—“unintentionally funny.” Aside from that, Aja did an excellent job, and I’m genuinely looking forward to his next project. The sequel looks solid, though it seems to lean much more heavily into the action genre.

Yeah... but he isn't directing it..

I’m aware he isn't directing this one, but they've brought in a German director named Weisz, whose cannibalistic thriller "Grimm Love" was actually banned back in his home country. Even though we're looking at a different director and screenwriter now, the film still looks pretty solid, though I'll be sure to keep my expectations in check.

I'm being a bit soft on him... damn... I forgot his last name is actually Aja... though I suppose you can tease someone by their surname too.
