Quick question for anyone who made it out to the show in NYC today...
Does anybody happen to know the name of that song they played right near the beginning? It’s not on any of their albums—and I honestly own every single one of them...
The lyrics were something like...

"she's so free, she's nothing like me"..
And the chorus goes: "you like the fire..."

It's such a killer track! I think it was actually the first time I've ever heard it live!!! If anyone happens to know what it is, please let me know! 😁

Honestly, it’s just pure fluff to me...
I watched a bit of her Exit set and some clips on YouTube, and it all feels so overhyped and performative. She definitely deserves an Oscar for that acting, but she hasn't even broken into the mainstream yet......

I mean, you really can't compare YouTube clips to actual studio albums, right? I used to think they were great before, but I honestly had no idea what I was missing until last night. The energy on that stage was just something else... and man, they sound so much better live than on record. For me personally, that was easily one of the most intense concerts I've ever been to!
And besides, what's all this talk about acting or overdoing it? I guess that’s just what people call "performance," and it's honestly such a huge part of any good rock show! 😉

Maybe everything was executed strictly by the book, but man, what a killer show and such an incredible vibe... It’s been a long time since I’ve seen a band in Chicago—especially one this small and relatively underground—completely blow the roof off the place right from their first set. They kept the energy pumping until the very end and were getting standing ovations just 3 or 4 minutes after their first encore. It’s honestly a shame they didn't play a second song;

To anyone who didn't have anything better to do on a Sunday night, you are seriously missing out. You should feel sooo much FOMO for not being there! 😁

Though, I suppose I can't say what could possibly be "better" to do if someone actually has a passion for live music 😬

Pure, high-octane R&B vibes and insane energy. She isn't just a killer performer; she’s actually a genuinely cool, down-to-earth person too 😍

Man, I'd give anything to be out on Martha's Vineyard right now... 😢

Hey, I think I totally agree with the first part of that...
but I don't know, I didn't really feel anything was over-the-top yesterday... I guess music is just so subjective, right? 😉 You can't really say something isn't 100% good just because it isn't your cup of tea, 😉
and I still stand by what I said before... they're just wild! And honestly, what's wrong with a little sex appeal?? 😁

It actually pissed me off how she censored those song lyrics during hot Kiss: "I'm spinnin around the room and I can't sleep, your little girl wants to ffff."

All we got was "I'm spinnin around the room and I can't sleep.... ffffffffffffffffffffffff"

I was honestly dying of boredom. ☕ It’s rare that I feel this disappointed by a set, and we weren't even halfway through the concert yet.
For a sound that's supposed to be raw and gritty, all you really need is one guitar with some decent riffing. Instead, these two guys just spent the whole time sweating through awkward movements over a wall of deafening noise. They had two guitars, but you couldn't hear a single honest riff—just a lot of "look how cool and edgy we are" vibes. They kept throwing in fifty different pauses and breaks in every song, acting like they were building up to this massive explosion or a huge mosh pit, but it just felt empty. Honestly, it was pretty underwhelming.

Juliette definitely has the attitude, the charisma, and that moody look down, but the music itself doesn't carry her at all. Without Juliette, this band probably would have ended up playing a tiny demo tent at a local garage rock festival last summer.

What a letdown.

Man, seriously, I'm so over them dragging out every single song like it's some marathon 🙂 even though honestly, I was vibing regardless 🤷

Culture Shock and Gogol?! Some people just can't handle a show like that. She’s a force of nature who eats the stage alive. She jumps like Jagger, she's got that raw Iggy vibe, and you can tell she’s giving it 100%.

The reality is 98% of the crowd didn't even know her music; they just showed up because she's a big-name actress like Juliette Lewis. People always get weird when actors try to sing or play an instrument.🙄 Everyone carries their own baggage and prejudices, and now they're claiming she's "acting" on stage... please, a stage is a stage, and everyone there is putting on a performance, one way or another.

Also, if you just don't like the music, there's nothing to be done about it. That's on you.

I guess I feel the same way about that whole "stretching out the songs" thing you guys always talk about; it's honestly such a vibe, because I think that’s really what makes a live set feel so different from just listening to the studio recordings.

I'm actually feeling a little bit bummed that I missed out on hearing Shelter Ur Needs... and a few other tracks too, though I suppose if you asked me, they probably would have played everything! 😁
I also heard that they used to play Hardly Wait, which I think would have been absolutely amazing to catch live.
But hey, I guess there's always next time.
