Back again with more lab results... As I mentioned before, I've been running a low-grade fever for about a month now. I've been through the ringer with tests, including one today. My blood work showed WBC 14 and GRAN 9.9. I had an ultrasound recently where the doctor suspected pyelonephritis, but since my kidney markers came back normal, they're leaning away from that diagnosis. Should I be worried about these numbers? Based on what you all have seen, are these significant elevations for leukocytes and GRAN? One more thing—I don't want to start a whole new thread—but has anyone found that antibiotics made their birth control pills fail? Thanks
hugs and kisses

I can't speak for this guy with the tachycardia... but I deal with it too. My resting pulse usually sits around 80-90, but occasionally it spikes to 120 while I'm just sitting there doing nothing! And no, I'm not on drugs, nor do I smoke.
My thyroid is fine, cancer screening came back clear—but my ESR is at 5 (normal range is 4-24)... what can anyone tell me about an ESR reading like that? What does it actually signify?
Everything else in my blood work is perfectly normal.

Any ideas?

This patient on opioids doesn't present a classic clinical picture; it’s more of an oxymoron... how can someone be normotensive yet tachycardic while on opioids?
Sedimentation rate is just an indicator of inflammation or other bodily processes, and it's incredibly unreliable... highly non-specific...

Quick question. Is it okay to get blood work done while on my period?

Can someone break down what this MPXI thing actually means on a blood test? Apparently, it’s supposed to sit somewhere between -10 and +10—but I'm sitting at -17.

Every other marker is right in the clear!

Help?????

Got my bloodwork back today. Everything seems solid except for my cholesterol, which hit 5.6. Usually, they want it under 5. What's the fastest way to get this under control? I've been reading that you don't really need meds until you hit 7, and I’d really rather not go down that road if I can help it.

I've been reading that doctors usually don't start you on statins until you hit 7.0, and I really want to avoid getting to that point!

Look, being over by 0.5 isn't the end of the world. Just watch your diet, get some regular exercise in, and you'll be fine.👍
