Data Recovery Help Needed

CJ rules! Seriously though, who else here can brag about having their own custom smiley? I’m thinking about whipping up another one—maybe something where the motherboard is actually smoking or you can see the PC tower through a cloud of smoke...
Hey, mods, please don't ban me for spamming this thread, I promise I'll chill out!

Regarding that whole ordeal of trying to rescue data from a drive that was unmounted and then remounted—honestly, forget about it. The second you go in there and repartition everything, any hope of getting your files back basically goes up in smoke. Even if you didn't mess with partitions and just hit "format," you're still looking at a lost cause. Those recovery programs mostly just scavenge for random fragments left on the disk, so you're really just whistling in the wind at that point.
