Seriously, you just don't see stuff like this anymore...

The full collection by this legendary artist:
Man from Katanga
Blue Bar
Melodies of the Room and Hallway

Every single one of these albums is an original CD, and honestly, I’ve pretty much only played through them once. They’re in absolutely mint condition, like they just came off the shelf... I'm looking to let the whole set go at once for $100.

I’ve got a few remaining copies up for grabs. Just a heads-up on the specs: the vinyl itself is an original pressing from 1990, but the sleeve is a 2011 reissue. Honestly? The reissue is much better quality than the vintage stuff. We're talking heavy-duty cardstock with a smooth matte finish, not that flimsy paper you see everywhere else.

I'm also open to trades. If you want to swap, just shoot me a DM with a list of the LPs or CDs you're looking to move. Also, don't mind the glare in the photo—the vinyl is tucked safely in protective sleeves, so they're catching the light a bit. 🙂

Hey there!

My uncle just got back from living in Germany for over forty years, and he brought a whole stash of vinyl records with him. The problem is, I don't even own a turntable. So, I went ahead and made a list of everything he brought over, and now I’m thinking maybe I should just sell them. I was hoping you guys could take a look at this list and give me an idea of what we're talking about in terms of value. Also, where's the best place to offload these? Honestly, I think I'd prefer to just sell the whole lot at once and be done with it... if that's even possible.

Thanks, and happy holidays to you too!

I don't even know where to start with this. I guess... maybe it’s just me, but I can't stand how things are being handled lately. It’s honestly infuriating. Everything feels so disorganized, and frankly, it's getting ridiculous. I mean, seriously? How does this even happen? It makes no sense at all. Just... ugh. Typical.

Alright, here’s the list of vinyl records. Just to be clear, these are all the big 12-inch LPs at 45 rpm, and they all come with the cardboard sleeves included:

Boney M - Love for Sale (two identical tracks)
Boney M — Rasputin, Painter Man (absolute banger of a single) LIMITED EDITION
Boney M – Nightflight to Venus. It looks like it’s actually a double album, which is pretty wild. There’s even this massive poster tucked inside, plus these pristine postcards featuring the band that you could actually mail out. I guess it's just one of those high-effort releases from back in the day.
SANTA ESMERALDA — Look, don't get me wrong here. I don't want anyone misinterpreting what I'm about to say.
I just sat down to listen to the original Saturday Night Fever soundtrack again... and honestly? I’ve got thoughts. Big ones. Maybe I'm just being old-fashioned, but there's something about that era of disco that hits different. It’s pure, unadulterated energy. But then I start thinking about how much people obsess over it now. Everyone acts like it's this untouchable masterpiece, which, okay, fine—it *is* iconic. But does it hold up when you actually sit through the whole thing without the nostalgia goggles on? I guess it depends on who you ask. Some people probably think it's the pinnacle of music history, while others might find it a bit much. I don't know. I'm probably just being too cynical. Still, the Bee Gees... man, they really owned that sound. It’s infectious, even if it makes me want to roll my eyes at how much everyone tries to recreate it today.
DISCO EXPRESS - 20 Original Hits, 20 Original Icons
HIT ROCKET - 20 Super Hits
TINA CHARLES - Dance little lady
Amanda Lear’s *Sweet Revenge*... I mean, she absolutely had to be some kind of massive sex symbol back then. I mean, look at the cover—it’s got her topless right there on the jacket. And the whole concept? It’s supposedly this story about a girl who sells her soul to the devil only to come out on top. Maybe that's just how I see it, but it's definitely a wild premise.
EUROPE - Disco Sensations
The Tornado hits hard—20 massive hits.
FANNY - Rock and roll survivors
ROY BLACK - In the Land of Songs
I was just being naive, I guess. Seriously. Like that whole Julie situation at the Eurovision Song Contest—total amateur hour. Three times a diamond? Please. Give me a break.
James Last - We Want Fun
MUSICAL YOUTH—It’s got a totally different vibe than I expected. There’s even this little color comic tucked inside about these guys, and they bring up names like the Jacksons and Donna Summer. Honestly, it feels more like some kind of hip-hop thing... I guess? Maybe just a weird stylistic choice.
The DEBUT issue—number 09—is basically just one big, chaotic fever dream. It’s this massive 62-page spread that's packed with everything under the sun; I mean, you’ve got these deep-dive interviews with legends like Queen and Carmel, but then it's just constant interruptions from ads and random filler everywhere else. And to top it all off, tucked away at the very end, there’s this whole section dedicated to vinyl records featuring various artists... like Sade, for instance. It's a bit much, I guess. Just a total mess of a magazine.
Look, I’ve seen enough to know when someone is actually pulling it off. You have to look me in the eye and tell me this isn't happening—this track just hit Platinum status. It’s wild. I mean, maybe I’m being too cynical, but seeing this level of success? It’s massive. Honestly, it’s just... wow. Pure madness.
The Greatest Hits of the World 2—now we're talking. This is the original pressing, too. There are 14 tracks on this record, and it dates all the way back to 1974. I mean, look at the lineup... you’ve got legends like Janis Joplin, Fleetwood Mac, Santana, and The Byrds. It’s just incredible. I guess you could say it's a masterpiece of an era. Real music. None of that modern junk. Just pure, unfiltered classics.
MILVA — Here’s my take on it.
HEAVEN 17 - Just let me go already!
Look, we’re talking about actual Reggae here—real deal stuff. We're talking about a whole spectrum of different artists, and yeah, obviously you've got legends like Bob Marley leading the pack.
Rick James - Garden of Love
Romy Haag – The Flyer
Curtis Mayfield – Back to the World (I think I found some lyrics in there too)
The true queens of rock—we’re talking about legends like Blondie, the Belle Stars, Pat Benatar... just pure icons.
HIT ACTION 82 — probably just the big hits from 1982...
MODERN TALKING — Let's get into this whole mess called "Love."
EAGLES - Just one of those nights.
The 1979 International Dixieland Festival in Dresden... man, I still think about it. Just looking back at that era. It’s hard to believe how much things have shifted since then. Looking at those old memories, you just realize how much grit and soul was actually in that music scene back in the day. Everything feels so polished and sanitized now, doesn't it? Maybe I'm just being cynical, but there was an energy in those festivals—that raw, unrefined feeling—that you just don't see anymore. It makes me wonder if we ever really had that kind of community, or if it was just a fluke of the times. I guess it's just nostalgia talking, but damn.
DEBUT No. 05—and yeah, it’s exactly what I warned you about. It’s just another one of those massive 62-page magazines paired with a record featuring a bunch of different artists... you know, stuff like Billy Idol or Yello. Typical.
DEUTSCHE TOP HITS '78 — some classic German hits from back in 1978... I think I caught a few familiar names, like maybe Richard Clayderman?
International Special Hits — a double album featuring some of those massive hits from back in '77...
I was digging through some old records the other day and stumbled back onto the Mavrica double album by Lojze Slak—man, that guy was an absolute legend in the American folk scene. It’s one of those classic collections that just hits different when you realize how much heart he put into his music. I guess looking back at these old recordings makes you realize how much the industry has changed, but honestly? Maybe we lost something along the way. Just a thought.
Jokes on a loop here—Tunnes & Schal. I mean, honestly, I think we’ve got some kind of amateur comedian duo going on here, just cracking cheap jokes and nonsense. It’s like watching those old, mindless slapstick routines you'd see on a low-budget sitcom. Just pure stupidity, I guess.
The Secret Service... honestly, oh Susie. I mean, come on. It’s just unbelievable at this point. I guess we were all expecting some level of competence, but this? This is something else entirely. Maybe I'm being too harsh, but I don't know, it feels like they're just completely out to lunch. It's frustrating, really. Just... wow.
Sixteen top hits. Sixteen! And we’re talking about legends like Elton John, the Carpenters, Mungo Jerry... just pure gold from back in 1973. I mean, seriously, remember when Elton actually had a full head of hair? God, those were the days.
The Four Tops - Catfish
Aleksandar Ilić—honestly, he’s just crying on my chest at this point. I have absolutely no clue who this guy even is, but man, he looks exactly like Borat.
Joachim Witt—specifically that "Edelweiss" track from back in '82. Just some German guy from decades ago.
Rich and Poor - Mamma Maria
The Beatles' 1967-1970 double album... I mean, come on. It’s just nothing but massive hits. Twenty-eight legendary tracks packed onto one release! This has to be the real deal. It absolutely has to be!
So, I was thinking about Tom Jones... specifically that golden era between '65 and '68. You know, when he was absolutely killing it with tracks like "It's Not Unusual" and "Delilah." Just those massive, powerhouse hits. I guess there’s just something about that specific run of songs that hits different. Maybe it's the production? Or maybe I'm just being nostalgic. Either way, those years were peak Tom Jones for sure.
Top Chrysalis—we're talking about hits from all over the place. I mean, you've got legends like Blondie, Jethro Tull, Pat Benatar, Frankie Miller... just a massive variety of artists. It’s honestly kind of wild how much ground they cover.
NADA TOPČAGIĆ - I need some help here!
Manfred Mann's Earth Band—"Eyes of Nostradamus." I was just listening to it again, and man... it’s a trip. It’s one of those tracks that really sticks with you, I guess. There’s something about that prog-rock energy, that driving rhythm, that almost frantic feeling of looking toward some inevitable, looming future. It hits hard. Maybe it's just the nostalgia, or maybe it's just that specific, heavy atmosphere they managed to capture. It feels massive. A bit chaotic, too, if I'm being honest, but that's probably why it works. Just... intense.
The Best of Pop Music Oldies: Original Stars - Original Hits Vol. IV. It’s just a massive collection of various hits spanning different years.
JOE AM KU'DAMM - Berlin Live
MARC HARRIS - Airport (long version), We're Lost in a Jungle (super sound single)
GEORGE BAKER SELECTION - River Song
ELTON JOHN - The album
LEVI'S ROCK - FESTIVAL NEUE MUSIK AUS DEUTSCHLAND - Spliff Extrabreit Interzone Prima Klima
JURGEN DREWS - Rockig
MOTOWN - A Motown Disco Single (something involving Diane Ross, Marvin Gaye, Smokey Robinson and Stevie Wonder)
KISS - Music from the Elder
BLUE MONDAY - The beach
DEBUT Nr.06 - that magazine again, 62 pages plus a record
SUMMER HITS '83 - basically just summer hits from 1983
CHIC - Real people
MONSTER TRACKS - various artists like Genesis, Dire Straits, The Who, Status Quo,...
IT'S MY DISCOTHEK VOL.4 - 20 Original Hits
AMERICA'S GREATEST HITS - ugh, finally, actual hits from different eras spanning 1950-1977, double album
30 years of THE LEGENDS OF FOLK - a double album featuring legendary folk music
TRUMPET ECHO THE LEGENDS OF FOLK - another double album by those same legends but with different songs; this one apparently has some suggestive tracks on it
SINDBAD THE SAILOR - Die Gefangenen des Sultans
GREASE - The Original Soundtrack from the motion picture (John Travolta, Olivia Newton John)
OTIS REDDING - (Mr. Pitiful, The Dock of the bay, The happy Song, Amen,...)
JOKES ON THE GO - Fips Asmussen (probably some American stand-up comedian... telling jokes and stuff, kind of like a typical US comedian)....
COLLECTED HUMOR WITH HERBERT HISEL - probably just another jokester.....
BRAVO - Kenny (Fancy Pants, The Bump, etc.)
FRANK ZANDER - Donnerwetter
FRANK ZANDER - Zander's zorn
ELVIS - Forever 32 hits (double album, 32 hits,...)
CLIFF RICHARD - We Don't Talk Anymore (No.1 Hit IN THE UK), Count Me Out 12'' MAXI SINGLE
FERN KINNEY - Groove me (LIMITED EDITION)
ERUPTION - Leave a light
HIGH SPEED DISCO - 20 top - current Original - Hits (man, there are actually some hits in here, various artists)
PERCY SLEDGE - Where a man loves a woman
W.AMBROS - Nie und Nimmer

Now for the records without covers (just the cardboard sleeves...):

THE BROTHER ENSEMBLE (songs by this group....)
INSTRUMENTAL TRIO LOJZETA SLAKA (singing "FANTJE S PRAPROTNA")
THE BROTHER KOVAČIČ ENSEMBLE (singing FRANC KOREN BRACO and DRAGICA SMEJ)
LUDWIG VAN BEETHOVEN - Symphonie n.5 en et mineur
INSTRUMENTAL TRIO LOJZETA SLAKA (singing "FANTJE S PRAPROTNA") other songs, not the same ones as above....
TRIO DE SANTA CRUZ - Valencia
LOS MACHUCAMBOS - Caramba!
INSTRUMENTAL TRIO LOJZETA SLAKA (singing "FANTJE S PRAPROTNA") this time it's a red sleeve instead of blue... I don't even know if there's a difference besides the color...
SOME RECORD FEATURING POLKAS AND WALTZES (various artists from the region) from the RADIO TELEVISION NETWORK
AMERICAN INSTRUMENTAL QUINTET - Sprevodnik Vanč (featuring DANICA FILIPLIČ, Comedian IVAN ANDREJC - BREZNIKOV VANČ)
INSTRUMENTAL TRIO LOJZETA SLAKA - (singing "FANTJE S PRAPROTNA") these guys again, some other record, I have no clue which number in the series it is...
THE FOUR KOVAČI ENSEMBLE - full album (polkas and waltzes)
SOME RECORD FEATURING VARIOUS AMERICAN ARTISTS (Polkas and waltzes...)
VOCAL ENSEMBLE "DALMACIJA" - some coastal songs (Vocal ensemble "DALMACIJA", conductor: SERGIJE RAINIS, Soloists: ANĐELKA STANKOVA and BORIS NIKOLIĆ)
INSTRUMENTAL TRIO LOJZETA SLAKA - (singing "FANTJE S PRAPROTNA") them again, another record, who knows what order it's in...
DUET: Hristovski, Čerepovski (4 of their songs)
SOME TURKISH RECORD - FIRAT label ( Kendim Ektim Kendim Buldum, Emel Sayin, Ben Seni Unutmak icin Sevmedim)
RITA PAVONE - wenn der zirkus kommt, Tschau amore, Tschau Amigo, Cheerio
IVICA ŠERFEZI and Valter Skok's ensemble (they have two songs: ŠE ŠE EN KRAJCARČEK MAM and PO HALOŠKIH CESTAH JE FURATI FAJN)
RAY MILLER - Gina
RAPUNZEL - this is probably meant for cleaning the turntable....

Anyway, I guess that would be all....
