Alcohol and birth control: Any experiences?

I was wondering, is it okay to drink alcohol while I'm on birth control pills (specifically Cilest)?

I’m definitely not a heavy drinker, but I just want to know if having a drink here and there at parties is fine.

I asked him quite directly about drinking alcohol—specifically gin—and he told me that it’s perfectly fine for me to have a drink, provided I stick to moderate amounts, such as maybe two glasses of wine.
He can certainly drink normally out in public.
The only thing that really matters is ensuring that he doesn't end up vomiting.

It’s not really about whether you can handle the drinks or not; the real headache starts if you’re also a smoker... and honestly, that just opens the door wide for blood clots.

You can drink—he probably just mentioned the vomiting because it takes time for the meds to hit your stomach and actually absorb. If you throw up after taking birth control—say, an hour or two later depending on the pill—you basically have to retake the dose... I mean, obviously, it hasn't been absorbed yet, right? You'll end up with low blood levels and zero effectiveness.

Ever since I started taking my birth control pills, I haven't been able to handle more than a couple of sips of alcohol. Even just half a beer makes me feel tipsy 🤣 🤣 🤣 plus I end up feeling nauseous for the rest of the night...
..I mean, I'm not entirely sure if it's definitely the pills, but I know it all started right around then 🤣

..so now I just don't drink anything at all. It's probably for the best, staying healthy and all 👍 😬

You can certainly have a drink, but it shouldn't be an everyday habit. Having a beer after lunch or a glass of wine every single day? No, that just won't do...

In principle, you really ought to steer clear of alcohol and sodas, along with anything super greasy that puts stress on your liver. Birth control pills already put quite a heavy load on the liver themselves. It's common for them to cause elevated liver enzyme levels during blood tests.
That said, having the occasional glass of wine or a Coke shouldn't be a major issue.

I was thinking, since New Year's Eve is right around the corner and all... I don't really drink (or smoke, for that matter), so I'd rather not put my liver through any unnecessary stress.
