A few months back, I messed up my shoulder—took a nasty fall on my arm while working in the woods. A tree basically smacked me in the shoulder blade from behind and knocked me right off my tractor onto the ground. The pain was intense, just a massive spike for maybe 3 or 4 minutes, and then it felt like a bone popped back into place. But the shoulder itself? It felt "off"—shifted to the right. I didn't see a doctor immediately; figured I’d just tough it out. Finally went in about a month and a half later, but they couldn't reset it then because it was too late. I ended up seeing some local bone-setter to try and pop it back in—honestly, no idea if that even helped. Anyway, went back to the MD, got X-rays, and the orthopedic specialist called it an "unrecognizable dislocation." Meanwhile, the guy reading the X-ray said the issue was actually with my shoulder blade. I started physical therapy and did 15 days of it. Slowly, I regained some range, and now I can lift my left arm almost as high as my right (the injured one), but certain movements are still totally blocked. Like, when I lie face down to do exercises, I can't get my left arm all the way down to the floor—there's a gap of at least 10cm. And when I stand up and stretch my arms out at shoulder height with palms down, my left elbow stays stuck in place unless I strain everything just to force it into position. It’s been 7 months now. I’m still hitting the exercises regularly—I used to do them three times a day, but scaled back a bit. Now I've got this thumb numbness and my palm goes numb occasionally too. Plus, there's this little "round bump" on the joint that seems swollen—maybe from inflammation or whatever, who knows? Doesn't hurt when I press it, though. I'm 51 now, so if anyone has any advice, I'm all ears.
I should mention, the doctor told me my left shoulder is now "dropped."
