The pharmaceutical industry has become a total cancer on society.

Instead of actually curing people, they just churn out these weird drugs that don't fix anything—they just mask the symptoms.

Ever wonder why we haven't found a real cure for high blood pressure, gallbladder issues, or most heart and mental health problems?

It’s because Big Pharma isn't interested in fixing the problem effectively. They want patients stuck on their products for life, just barely managing the illness. They just want to sell more aspirin, beta blockers, anti-anxiety meds, and endless other pills you have to take forever once you start.

It's basically becoming the standard rule now: make drugs you take from the first symptom until the day you die.

Finding an actual solution would be bad for business since it would drastically slash their profits.

I guess I can't say doctors and scientists aren't trying, but this massive industry ignores the best solutions. They just buy those scientists off or push them out of the way if they have to.

Remember when that supposed vaccine for tooth decay was found and dentists just bought it up and burned it?

What if it had actually gone mainstream? Think about how many dentists would lose their jobs. Or dental schools. Or the whole industry built around fillings, dentures, and anesthesia...

So, cavities need to exist just so some powerful people can keep lining their pockets.

Just imagine if some scientist discovered a cure for, say, cancer today. Like, something done in maybe 6 or 7 injections.

Do you really think a breakthrough like that would ever see the light of day?

Never. The pharmaceutical industry would ensure its destruction immediately.

Every cancer patient lives anywhere from three months to six years, and during that time, they spend insane amounts of money trying to survive. Between the meds, surgeries, gauze, radiation, expensive equipment, and doctor visits... all of that disappears if there's a simple cure.

That’s why it doesn't exist, and I don't mean because geniuses can't create it.

Greed—or rather, the hunger for power—is bigger than the desire to save lives.

Believe it or not...

Look, if we're actually going to have a debate here, you should probably start by mentioning your education or at least where you're getting all this info from...

though I get the feeling any real discussion would just die right then and there😉

Third-degree biological sciences.

Spent over 10 years working on pesticide research.

Competent enough to keep this debate going, I guess.

Just one question for you: doesn't what I wrote above seem LOGICAL to you?

Alright, walk me through it—how exactly do you think a vaccine like that would even work?

but honestly, I feel like everyone would just stop talking once we started doing that 😉

Why even be surprised?
If someone doesn't know their stuff, they probably just didn't go to school much.
It's pretty obvious to everyone.

Honestly, this whole thread feels more like something you'd see on Discovery Channel or something...

I mean, coming from someone who claims to actually know what they're talking about, I was expecting way more than just a bunch of recycled conspiracy theory clichés...

The only thing I'll give you is this: yeah, big pharma wants profit. But honestly, there's nothing wrong with that. That’s how every single industry works in America...

That drive for profit is exactly what pushes the industry to churn out new drugs and fund massive research at places like Harvard or Johns Hopkins, because if they didn't, their competition would just eat them alive and Unistiti them. If some major pharmaceutical giant finally cracked the code on a cure for cancer or AIDS, their profits would skyrocket, making their shareholders incredibly happy—and since management answers to those shareholders, they'd easily cover the losses from any other meds used during cancer treatment. Meanwhile, all the other firms in the sector would just be left struggling to keep up...

Look, your arguments are totally reaching and just aren't convincing me at all. Maintaining the status quo? If that were actually true, we wouldn't have seen any medical progress over the last few decades. But we do. We see new drugs hitting the market constantly...

There is just no way you could pull off a conspiracy on this scale. You really think all these massive pharma companies would sit down in a room and agree not to release some "holy grail" drug? Aside from the fact that it's illegal, unethical, and frankly doesn't make any financial sense, the sheer number of companies worldwide makes it impossible. Everyone is just trying to get ahead...
You brought up that dental cavity vaccine thing that dentists supposedly burned. But what does the pharma industry have to do with that? The dentists organized the bonfire themselves! Whoever actually discovered that breakthrough could have made a killing, much to the horror of their own competitors...

Take the pharma industry, for example—they have zero incentive to work on malaria vaccines or stuff like that because those diseases don't hit the wealthy parts of the world, so they'd just be losing money. You drop a billion dollars into research and then nobody can afford to buy the cure? That's a one-way ticket to bankruptcy. In cases like that, I think governments, the UN, and various foundations should step in (like how the Bill Gates foundation has donated for similar causes). But cancer, and those kinds of diseases that plague developed nations too... that's a whole different ballgame...

And hey, this isn't even unique to pharma. It's the exact same story in the auto industry, the food industry, tech... you name it...

Yeah, right... big pharma companies are basically just non-profits dedicated to the greater good of humanity...
Developing a single new drug costs about $500 million, and I guess they just collect all that cash through voluntary donations..
And don't forget, every single expert working there is just a volunteer who works part-time after their real job, or maybe they just dedicated their entire lives to science and work there full-time for free...
Oh, and when someone sues a company because a medication actually failed them, the government just steps in and writes a massive check for hundreds of millions to cover the damages so the corporations don't take a hit...

If some other pharmaceutical giant comes up with a better cure, they probably just sit down and agree to distribute it together...
Naturally, distribution channels are way cheaper for developing nations, and I suppose drugs for AIDS are much more affordable for people who clearly aren't using protection and are being promiscuous... because hey, they're human beings too, right?

Good grief...

I haven’t read a pile of nonsense quite this massive in a long time. Shout out to the exceptions, but most of this is just pure stupidity—the kind of stuff you only see from someone who isn't quite right in the head, or maybe someone who tried to get hired at Pfizer and failed miserably.

Kudos to Linda Hughes88 and Kyle Nelson2... 👍

They’ve been researching those new pesticides for over a decade.[/QUOTE]

Exactly. At the end of the day, Big Pharma is driven by profit. That’s just how business works. But there’s this underlying assumption that doctors, pharmacists, or researchers should somehow work for free. People seem to think these professionals should live on thin air and maintain this impossible level of saintly altruism, even if it means they can't provide for their families. They act as if it's somehow non-Ethical for someone to receive a paycheck for examining patients, dealing with biological hazards, or being exposed to radiation and various toxins during medical procedures.
The expectation is that they should do all this for nothing and still show up with a smile. Apparently, working overnight shifts or treating patients with high-risk conditions like AIDS or Hepatitis B and C shouldn't come with compensation.
As long as humanity exists, medicine will exist, because diseases aren't going anywhere. If you honestly believe you can just "solve" cancer once and for all, feel free to roll up your sleeves and try.
Before antibiotics were ever discovered, millions of people died from simple things like pneumonia... millions... and that went on for centuries.

Yeah. Big Pharma wants profit. It’s a business. I guess people just assume doctors, pharmacists, or researchers should work for free. Like they should live on thin air and be these perfectly Ethical saints who don't need a paycheck. As if it isn't okay to get paid for working with people, or examining them, or dealing with all sorts of biological mess—or even being exposed to radiation and various toxins while treating patients. That's supposedly not Ethical.
They should just do it for nothing and smile about it, too... obviously, night shifts should be free, and treating addicts (with AIDS and/or Hepatitis B or C) should be pro bono.
There will always be drugs as long as there are humans, because there will be diseases as long as there are humans. If you think you can just solve cancer, by all means, GO AHEAD AND TRY.
Millions of people died from pneumonia before antibiotics were discovered... millions... and that went on for centuries.

Look, health should probably be a bit more than just pure business....

I didn't say anything about doctors, though there's plenty to say about them. First off, most medical students are just kids whose dads have deep pockets, rather than people who actually have the brains or the heart for it..

Since med school is such a grind, these students are forced to just "sit in class" right when they should naturally be out socializing and actually living life...

They miss out on that part of their lives, I guess, and end up stunted for that period...

Then later, once they start working, they feel "free" and try to live out the life stages they missed while they were young...

(Do you even know how many scandals happen between doctors, nurses, and patients?)

So, they wander around, neglect their profession, and end up being the least competent experts out there...

But, luckily for them, the whole country covers for their ignorance and mistakes...

(Now someone's gonna claim I'm just jealous of doctors!)😁

Pure nonsense....
I mean, I guess you're just salty because you didn't make the cut for med school, right?

If you actually knew a single doctor in real life, you wouldn't be posting this garbage..

Besides, if you really hate doctors that much, maybe try being consistent for once. Next time you have a stomach ache, don't bother going to the ER since they're all trash anyway.

Maria Nguyen4 said:With all due respect, healthcare should be about more than just the bottom line....

I wasn't actually criticizing doctors, though there is certainly plenty to say about them. First off, many people entering medical school are simply those whose parents have deep pockets, rather than those who possess the actual intellectual drive or the human empathy required for the job..

Because medical training is such an exhaustive process, students are forced to spend their prime years "grinding away" at a desk during the exact time they should naturally be socializing, going out, and enjoying life...

They are essentially robbed of that specific chapter of their youth...

Then, once they finally enter the workforce, they feel a sudden burst of freedom and try to make up for all those missed experiences from their younger years...

(Does anyone realize how many scandals exist between doctors, nurses, and patients?)

Consequently, by chasing after those distractions, they neglect their profession and eventually end up being some of the least competent professionals in any field...

But fortunately for them, the sheer scale of the system tends to mask their ignorance and mistakes...

(Now someone is inevitably going to accuse me of being jealous of doctors!)😁

Ah, that first sentence of yours. I wouldn't say the pharmaceutical industry is *purely* business, but it definitely is one. Medicines aren't handed out for free—that only happened back in the days of Tit, and he passed away. Even then, he wasn't getting things for free; he was paying for them and then distributing them to the masses.
Regarding medical school, what you said isn't entirely accurate. I’ll give you this: you're right that there are cases where an uncle or a wealthy relative covers the tuition. I won't argue that point because I'm sure there are plenty of fools out there who think having the title "Doctor" means every door in America swings wide open for them. However, none of those idiots understand the reality of surviving such a grueling program; they hit a wall long before they ever graduate. Only then does the real learning begin. What you learn in a classroom is nothing compared to the real world.
Most young people who decide to enroll in medical school genuinely want to be there. They are willing to sacrifice the social life, the outings, and everything else you mentioned specifically because they are driven to become physicians.
And yes, they study hard. But engineers, architects, mathematicians, dentists—they all study hard too. The only trick with these paths is that you really have to stop and think: do you want to grind for the next six years, and then continue grinding for the rest of your life to do work you love, or not?
Medicine is massive and incredibly serious, which is why it requires time and genuine passion. No fool finishes that degree unless they truly, deeply want to.
That's also why so many students enroll in med school... only to drop out later. It isn't worth the effort if you aren't one hundred percent certain.

Maria Nguyen4 said:The pharmaceutical industry? Man, it’s become a straight-up cancer on humanity today... seriously...

Instead of actually developing cures that would help people and truly heal them, they’re just churning out these weird-ass drugs that don't even touch the actual disease... they just mask the symptoms! What a joke...

It’s all because of this broken political paradigm we're stuck in... honestly, it's happening in every single industry out there. But look at Big Pharma—given how much precision and responsibility they actually have to deal with, they’re basically the perfect, textbook example of what happens when the whole system goes sideways...

Why the hell isn't Big Pharma actually trying to fix these problems?! It’s obvious they don't give a damn about finding real cures. They just want you stuck on their meds for the rest of your life so they can keep milking you dry... It’s all about that endless cycle of profit. They’d much rather you just manage the symptoms forever than actually get better. Just keep buying their aspirin, beta blockers, anxiety pills, and god knows what else... once you start on those things, you're basically paying them a subscription fee until the day you die... total scam...

Basically, yeah. Look, you’ve got tons of super cheap, well-known substances out there that could actually help treat all kinds of diseases. But who's gonna foot the bill for years of research just to push something through the massive US regulatory machine if they can't protect their investment or actually turn a profit? Profit is what drives every single industry, including Big Pharma...

What if this stuff actually started being used on a massive scale? Seriously, think about it... how many dentists would be out of a job overnight? We’re talking huge numbers. All those dental schools would basically be obsolete... and don't even get me started on the whole supply chain. All the companies making dental amalgams, the prosthetic labs, the anesthesia suppliers... everything tied to the old way of doing things would just vanish... gone...

So let's say you're actually right about the vaccine. What then? That’s just how this whole system is rigged to work. Instead of actually being rational, everything gets twisted because of these deep-seated political and economic power plays. It's why we never got that crazy ultrasonic washing machine everyone was hyped about, or why Tucker failed miserably at trying to build his super car... just more of the same bullshit. If things worked differently, maybe the world would've moved past prehistoric issues like global hunger by now. But the way things are set up? This system isn't ever gonna stop itself...

And that's exactly why... seriously, because of that whole cause-and-effect thing, your headline is totally missing the mark. You're just pointing at the symptoms instead of actually hitting the root cause of the disease... total nonsense...

You guys really think this insane breakthrough is ever actually gonna see the light of day?!...

NO WAY! Big Pharma would absolutely Unistiti him in a heartbeat!

There’s just no way this thing would ever actually hit mass production... honestly...

The hunger for profit—or let’s call it what it actually is: pure, unadulterated power—is way bigger than any actual desire to live...

Whether you bought into it or not...

Look, nowadays—especially in Big Pharma—trying to stay independent is basically a pipe dream. You’re looking at these massive global and local oligopolies that have their hands way too deep in the political machine... it's all rigged. And don't even get me started on the money side of things. In a world where cash is basically the only metric people use to measure social status, this industry is just more of the same garbage... it's all just a massive imitation of real value...

A vaccine targeting cervical cancer has been developed. For several years now, science has established a clear link between cervical cancer and the HPV-virus, which allowed researchers to successfully produce a vaccine against that specific virus. I have to say, in most other medical cases, things aren't quite this straightforward; while a vaccine works effectively for cervical cancer, achieving similar results for other types of cancer remains a much more difficult challenge.
