Chickenpox symptoms and recovery

So, I went ahead and got surgery for a varicocele just for the looks of it—it was barely even noticeable before. Fast forward 15 days post-op, and honestly? Things look way worse than they did before the procedure. My surgeon is trying to tell me this is totally normal and that the swelling (the vein) will settle down in a month or two since he supposedly tied off the dilated part.
The thing is, I’m being "polite" or whatever, so I haven't pushed too hard, but his colleagues aren't giving me any straight answers either. When I ask how on earth the vein could be tied off yet the enlargement on the left side is still there—and actually looking bigger now—it just doesn't make sense to me. To a layman, it feels completely illogical.
Anyone else dealt with something like this? 😕

Did you notice any other symptoms leading up to this?

My partner has been mentioning some discomfort over the last two or three months; he describes it less as an intense pain and more like this dull, nagging sensation in his left testicle, along with a small lump—almost like a bit of thickening right at the junction.

So, if anyone here has some experience with this or knows what might be going on...

Nah, I didn't even have any issues—I just went through with it because my urologist suggested it (he’s actually a good buddy of mine, haha). Honestly, I’m skeptical that what your guy is dealing with is even varicocele. Usually, that shows up as swollen veins on the left side and, from what I hear, it doesn't typically cause pain.
That's about all the advice I can give you, but he really ought to go see a specialist.

Hey.. had my surgery for Chickenpox five days ago.. things were huge... felt like I was carrying extra weight down there.... Doc said it wasn't an emergency and I could wait five years if I didn't plan on having more kids.. I already have one, so I figured I'd just get it over with now.. Post-op recovery mode.. everything feels even bigger than before.. but they say the swelling will go down.. Honestly, function matters more than looks, but man, it feels like they've tripled in size... No clue why.. but hey, doctors know best, so I guess I'll just trust them and play it safe.. Not much else to say... just gotta wait it out... peace
