Honestly, they’re just pathetic because of where they are in life right now. They've basically messed up their own lives and now they're trying to fix everything in a single night. It’s such a cliché. The thing is, they made those choices themselves, and choosing to take part in this "event" was just another one of those decisions. Based on how it's shown, if the main guy had actually known what he was getting into, he probably wouldn't have signed up. But the fact that he was lured in by the promise of something decent—even though he had no clue what it really was—kind of hits on that whole theme regarding the struggles of immigrants.

You’ve laid it all out nicely, sure—but none of your logic actually matches what we're seeing on screen.

truth is in the eye of the beholder 😬

btw ... I don't think I've ever actually seen a movie that specifically tackles the whole immigrant issue, but since you guys brought it up, maybe it's not a bad thing that the main character is an immigrant 😁

By some incredible stroke of luck, that happens to be the director as well.

I actually really enjoyed that movie. It starts off a bit slow—kind of like waiting in line at a busy Starbucks on a Monday morning—but once it picks up, 🙏 🙏

Some movies are just weird like that
and totally uninteresting until you actually wrap your head around the plot—then suddenly, everything clicks and it’s actually good

honestly, I was thinking about throwing in the towel
