Eight Below (Antarctica)

Just finished watching the latest Frank Marshall flick (Alive, Congo) and I have to say, it was actually pretty decent...

It felt a little drawn out at times—which is weird since it’s only 110 minutes—but it definitely hits you right in the feels if you're human... 🙂

Basically, the story follows an expedition in Eight Below that gets hit by a massive storm, forcing them to pull out and leave their sled dogs behind to fend for themselves all winter... Supposedly based on a true story...

The cast was alright too (considering Paul Walker is in it)...

Actually, there was an eighties Japanese film called Eight Below that followed basically the same plot idea.
Is this supposed to be a remake now?

Great movie.
The cast was good, but—and I mean no disrespect to the late Paul Walker—those dogs actually gave better performances.
The way they portray things like solidarity, strategy, and pure grief is just incredible. It’s honestly unreal. Honestly, Kristen Stewart could probably learn a thing or two from those huskies.

Honestly, this is such a solid adventure flick for the whole family ☕

A film that feeds both the soul and the senses☕

This movie just has me sitting here crying like a total idiot😢 but man, I absolutely love it!

this just isn't my vibe. I can't even deal with the plot, and don't even get me started on Paul Walker... honestly, nobody’s forcing my hand here. it feels like pure masochism. 🙂 what a damn shame for him.

the movie is basically just one annoying string of disasters caused by some clumsy scientist dragging everyone else down with him, but—hey, at least there are Malamutes 😍

This is easily one of my favorite films. 😍 It’s absolutely heartbreaking, yet incredibly beautiful and profound. I honestly had a lump in my throat thinking about Paul Walker—what a tragedy. 😢 Still, I will always look forward to revisiting this movie...

Personally, I thought the movie was beautiful—I've always had a soft spot for dogs, snow, and ice.



When my sister and I were watching, we kept trying to remember where else she’d been in a film, but nothing was coming to mind. Once we looked it up, we realized she has probably one of the wildest names out there. Seriously, her name is Moon Bloodgood! 😁

I have a Husky, and honestly, I get goosebumps every single time someone mentions an Alaskan Malamute.🙂

^ I think he’s definitely with Maya. You could tell they were a team; they just have that unspoken shorthand between them. 🙂

It’s kind of weird to me, though—that's the first time I've ever heard someone call a Husky a Malamute. Usually, people get it the other way around.

I’m not entirely sure why... maybe it’s just because they have brown eyes, and people seem to have this weird idea that Huskies only count if they have blue eyes. But honestly, if you really know anything about dog breeds, there isn't really a substitute for the real thing.

Mine is a male named Maya, though I guess since he's a boy, the name is a bit of a quirk. 😁
