I think Matanic could actually learn a thing or two from Golubovic—despite its flaws, the movie holds up well enough.
Two political undertones stuck out to me:🙏first, the older brother wins gold at the competition, yet the announcer keeps talking about how "backward" the country is, before finally closing with, "we thank the nation that produced such a champion."🤣
Then there’s that little detail... the older brother chatting with that gray-haired dealer on the ledge, right next to a piece of graffiti... the letter U🤣

Two political takes here:

Look, Matanic usually makes pretentious garbage. I couldn't even stand watching him during his guest spot on Open. Just because the guy made a couple of films doesn't mean he's suddenly the smartest person in the room.🙂

I'm with you on this one. 🙏

Even if his films aren't bad, as a person? He's just unpleasant—way too full of himself. 🙂

meddo said:The movie was alright for me. It’s just a shame they didn't focus more on all of Chicago so you could actually see what a total dump it is, because the vibe of the film really called for it.
And man, that guy—the debt collector/dealer combo, the bald guy? He's incredible! I think he's been in those Danish movies with Kim Bodni. In one scene, he even speaks Danish!

I'm with you on that, man...😬 👍

Total garbage movie. Honestly, the lead actor is just completely unlikable—I couldn't stand him for a second. I have to side with Elizabeth Garcia2 on this one; she was right when she mentioned how much the quality of films coming out of Mexico City has absolutely plummeted over the last few years.

I’m just sitting here waiting for you to tell me that "dead calm" and "Late Night Jazz" were also garbage...

"Late Night Jazz" is easily one of the ten worst movies I've ever sat through. After checking the score on IMDb, I gave it a 2/10. I can still feel the total shock I felt after those first thirty minutes of that Sunday afternoon! Just absolute trash from start to finish.
It's just irritating and plain stupid...

Totally pointless... and honestly? Way too predictable.
