Finally watched it with my son. I’ve been bugging him about this movie for months, but it just never seemed to show up on the schedule... so we just recorded it ourselves so we could finally get through the material.

I'm reviving this old thread. The movie is a classic, but it's been ages since I last watched it, and I'm hunting for a specific detail. Perhaps someone here has revisited it recently or seen it enough times to know
About Dorothy's shoes—does she wear those ruby slippers throughout the entire film? I came across a note suggesting Salvatore Ferragamo designed them for her, which makes me wonder if they actually stay the same red pair the whole time or if there was a costume change (though I highly doubt it)
Apologies if this seems like a trivial question, but I'm curious🙂

At the start of the movie, she isn't wearing them (obviously—since she hasn't even flown off to Oz yet, nor has she knocked out the witch whose shoes she eventually swipes). But, seeing as the first half of the film is in black and white, I’m betting those red designer heels are exactly what they're talking about.
