Man, if I remember right, the folks over in the Midwest were the first ones to let Vika Vuk perform publicly...
And that's exactly how it went down, which explains why things turned out the way they did... we basically let our guys get swallowed up by politics, while they stayed focused on the music...
So what, should I just toss aside all those misguided ideas from my younger days? Why would Čorba even be a factor?
Back then, everyone protected Čorba, no matter how much he barked... meanwhile, other artists around here weren't even allowed to make a peep...
Besides, my son loved Čorba too—he had plenty of his tapes and even a book of lyrics. But once he got married and moved away... he didn't want to take them with him. So that's how I ended up with them! Regardless, I don't just throw stuff away, not even Čorba. He's not worth the effort.
When it comes to music, I just pick whatever hits right, both the lyrics and the melody—especially the old school legends... makes sense, right?😍
We were all really into that smooth, Italian Bel Canto style, and Vika Vuk was such a sharp representative of that exact sound...
Honestly, even the Beatles didn't do it for me at first...
And neither did someone like Gabby Novak or Teresa... I didn't really discover them until much later...
Nowadays, I think I own pretty much everything they released back in the day...

Man, I think I finally own basically everything by The Beatles now...
Same goes for Elvis too. Honestly, I was just into a totally different vibe back then....

Man, times change, and so does everything else along with them... Honestly, music should be the only thing that matters. I still remember back in the late eighties, blasting Vic Vuk while cranking the volume, when my grandma suddenly burst into my room, slammed the balcony doors shut, and started yelling that I was losing my mind and was gonna end up behind bars... Just a few years later, I was the one slamming the doors shut just so I could listen to those Rockers from the Mississippi in peace. Times changed; everyone had their own way of doing things now, and I didn't need Grandma watching over my shoulder to realize some stuff just isn't meant to be played out loud.
Anyway, enough with the political talk, this thread is about a legend of our music scene, so we might as well get back to him.

stormyviper11 said:I couldn't agree more. The Leskovarov version is the absolute best, followed by the one by Đorđ Marjanović, and then Meri, despite how much he loved everything else.
Has the Leskovarov version been released in any digital format yet? I only have it on some ancient cassette tape...
If you want, I can send you the mp3. I'm not really active on this forum, so just hit me up via private message or at grebza@volja.net
Man... those were the days.😘

Honestly, if Mr. Britvić hasn't had a spiritual awakening lately, I really don't see the point in starting a new thread... ☕

Look, I already explained my reasoning, so I'm not sure why you're having such a hard time grasping it.
I honestly don't get why you're even chiming in—does my post bother you that much?
Best,
