That’s just not true. Maria Barnes started a whole new thread after this one went up, and I told her she should probably check the rules first because Tyndall and Unknown would probably ban her. 😬

Then someone eventually merged the two threads together.

Look, I honestly couldn't care less about Jack Anderlon’s business strategy—it’s not my place to meddle in his corporate affairs anyway—but I do give a damn about whether Reddit actually works. It seems like all those annoying server issues have finally been ironed out, since nobody else seems to be complaining anymore, but I really hope someone eventually realizes how much sense this investment actually makes. $175.

I’ve never quite wrapped my head around the whole web forum phenomenon, specifically regarding:

Those poor moderators and administrators pulling shifts on Fridays and Saturdays, working for zero pay and burning themselves out over arguments with random users just because they care.😁

It’s a fascinating psycho-social study, really.

If it weren't for people willing to WORK FOR FREE, an owner could shut down a site like Reddit tomorrow. It wouldn't even be worth the cost of the servers if you had to actually pay five or six moderators to stay online.
