They’re filming a sequel to Taxi Driver... holy crap 🙏 👋 😲

I actually had to stop and wonder if today was April Fools' Day 😁 😁

They’re totally out of ideas, so now they're just recycling everything.
In all sorts of ways.

It isn't being filmed.

I honestly don't think Scorsese and De Niro would ever even consider a sequel. There’s zero upside for them—it’d just be a massive loss. The movie is an absolute masterpiece, and I can't picture a follow-up that doesn't totally suck. Most sequels these days are just disappointing cash grabs.

A sequel is completely unnecessary.

Look, Travis Bickle didn't exactly scrub all the scum off the streets of New York City, but he did save one girl. By the end of the film, he finally looks like a man at peace. He drops Betsy off at her place, and even though she tries to reach out to him, he just leaves her on the sidewalk and quietly cruises away in his Uber into the New York City night. He becomes a cinematic icon. Just God's lonely man.

So why go back and mess with perfection now?
