mellowlynx said:No problem at all. 😉 You really ought to finish the full course exactly as prescribed until you can touch base with your doctor on Monday. The only exception is if you start experiencing severe side effects—in that case, stop immediately.

By the way, there's a Medication Referral Center over in Chicago. You can give them a call anytime to ask questions about any medication you're taking. 😉

Alright, I will keep taking the pills and then head to my doctor's office on Monday to see what she thinks—it'll be a nice little birthday visit! 😁 I haven't had any side effects other than that one issue. It definitely isn't wise to just stop on my own. Thanks again. 😉

Just wanted to dig this thread up because I’ve gotta share my experience—I was also prescribed Klimicin to take. After I popped my third pill around 10 PM, I headed to bed, but by 2 AM, I woke up with such intense chest pains that I honestly thought my whole insides were going up in flames... The next day, I tried skipping the morning dose just so I could take one in the afternoon instead, but within half an hour, the exact same thing happened all over again 😢. It was absolutely brutal, and I am never touching that stuff again; even a month later, I'm still feeling the physical fallout from how crazy that reaction was 🙂

If you're dealing with side effects from any medication, sticking with it isn't exactly the smart move.
If you start feeling off right when you begin an antibiotic, don't blame your gut bacteria.
I’m pretty sure those reactions are actually tied to histamine levels and allergies; you see this kind of thing happen with Augmentin all the time.

Here’s a list of drugs and ingredients that can potentially block intestinal DAO:

Pain relievers – acetylsalicylic acid
Local anesthetics – prilocaine
Antihypertensives – verapamil, atenolol, dihydralazine
Antiarrhythmics – propafenone
Antibiotics – clavulanic acid, cefuroxime, isoniazid, chloroquine
Mucolytics – acetylcysteine
Bronchodilators – aminophylline
Alcohol

Let me ask here too—can Klimicin clash with Colonir, the medication for IBS?

Clindamycin (Klimicin) is actually a top-tier antibiotic when you've got the right specific issues it's meant to target.
The thing is, Klimicin can be pretty aggressive toward your stomach lining, which is why doctors sometimes pair it with gastroprotection (like an acid reducer, maybe a PPI like pantoprazole or something similar), and you should definitely NOT be taking it right before you crash for the night 😲

So, any suggestions on how to schedule this throughout the day? 😢 If I have to take it every 8 hours, one definitely needs to be right before bed. Or should I wait a bit—maybe thirty minutes to an hour—after taking it before I actually lie down?

Look, probiotics are basically how you repair the damage caused by antibiotics, but there are a few things you really need to understand first.

First off, taking probiotics at the exact same time as your antibiotic is a waste of money. The antibiotic just wipes out the good bacteria you just swallowed, which makes the whole thing pointless.

One way to handle it is to space them out. You take your antibiotic dose, then wait about three or four hours before you take the probiotic capsule.

Honestly, the best move is to skip the probiotics while you're still on the meds entirely. Wait until you finish the full course, then start them a day or two after that last pill.

As for Colonir... since it’s got more than just bacteria in it, maybe try the spacing method mentioned above just to get some benefit out of it.

Long live Predrag Raos!

I’m honestly losing my mind here; I can’t get this schedule coordinated. 😢 I’ve been taking my probiotic thirty minutes before lunch and then hitting the antibiotic at 2 PM, which leaves maybe an hour between them. I’ve seen stuff online saying you need to wait two hours after the antibiotic before starting a probiotic, so clearly, I’m doing this wrong. These stupid antibiotics are going to wreck me. 😢 I don't know, I'll just keep doing what I'm doing and try to grab some yogurt or kefir on the way home. Maybe I'll get lucky and dodge the side effects.
