I keep waking up in the middle of the night or early morning completely soaked, from my hair down to my underwear...
It’s a total mess because I have to change everything... and honestly, I have zero clue what’s causing it.
It’s definitely not a climax (I think?), and I'm not even hot—my room is breezy, and I sleep in cotton clothes and bedding... anyone have any ideas on what could be behind this?

It’s giving my mom a headache too... though I probably shouldn't say why 😬

So, yeah, let's just say her pajamas are definitely a size too small. 🙂

Maybe it was a nightmare 🤔
but honestly, your body is so completely fried that you probably wouldn't have had the energy to even wake up—let alone actually remember it 🙄

First thing's first: get a complete blood count and check your thyroid levels.

Exactly 👍
And make sure you get a chest X-ray before they even check your thyroid

It’s either a thyroid issue or you're hitting menopause way earlier than expected... you really ought to get your levels checked—specifically TSH, T4, progesterone, estradiol, LH, and FSH.

Lungs? What about them?
A thyroid issue? Seriously?

Can you actually expand on that? Please.

Thyroid issues can show up through things like hot flashes, among other symptoms.
I wouldn't know much about how it affects the lungs, though.
When you're dealing with early menopause, those sudden waves of heat are often the very first sign. It’s like this weird physiological glitch where your heart rhythm just trips over itself—you'll feel it skip or flutter for a couple of seconds, then suddenly your pulse kicks into overdrive, your blood vessels dilate, and this massive wave of heat just surges straight toward your head... and before you know it, you're drenched in sweat within ten seconds. Usually, it drags along with restless nights and waking up constantly, too. Plus, your period either vanishes or becomes incredibly light... and unfortunately, it doesn't have anything to do with how old you actually are.😢
(I happen to have a PhD in this subject, sadly...)

It isn't premature menopause.

Modern medicine recognizes that perimenopause—the actual symptoms and hormonal shifts—can start as early as 15 years before menopause actually hits.

We just don't like to admit it.😉😁

Because if you factor in perimenopause, menopause, and postmenopause together, we’re looking at a massive stretch of life from age 35 until the grave where things aren't "normal."😈

Thyroid issues can actually trigger those intense hot flashes we all dread.
As for the lungs, I wouldn't be so sure about a direct link there.
When you hit early menopause, those hot flashes are usually the very first red flag. It’s this sudden, jarring sensation where your heart rhythm just goes haywire—like it skips a beat and then suddenly hammers against your ribs for a few seconds. Then, out of nowhere, your blood vessels dilate and this wave of heat rushes straight up toward your head... you're drenched in sweat within ten seconds flat. It almost always comes with crappy sleep and waking up in the middle of the night constantly. Plus, your period either disappears entirely or becomes incredibly light. And unfortunately, it doesn't matter how young you are.
(I actually spent years getting my PhD in this field, much to my own chagrin...)

Oops, my bad, hit the wrong button 😕

By the way, my menopause just decided to crash the party out of nowhere when I was only 32. After spending an entire year bouncing from one specialist to another for all these tests, it turns out there wasn't even a single egg left in the tank...

My apologies, I wasn't aware you were sharing a personal experience.

I am truly sorry to hear that. I hope you're on some kind of supplemental therapy to help manage the symptoms.

Could you please elaborate on that?

As an aside, night sweats are one of the primary symptoms of tuberculosis.😢

Other illnesses should be considered as well, but it would be wise to rule that out first.

Wow, you guys actually gave me a scare there.

I honestly thought I was just sweating because of the stress—you know, basically the mental state I’ve been in over the last few months. 😕 Plus, my heart "skips a beat" maybe three or four times a day. It doesn't happen when I'm sweating, though. And I keep getting this constant "lump in my throat" feeling.

I went through something similar when I was dealing with some kidney issues... though maybe it could be menopause too. Still, I'd say definitely get your thyroid checked out first...

The stomach lining usually takes the biggest hit from stress... go get checked out!

Man, that’s just the icing on the cake for me.....

Damn it... I guess I'll just start believing in bad karma.

Once I'm done at Target, I've gotta head home and deal with my family again over this doctor's referral. 🙄

Have you been feeling under the weather lately? To be honest, I find this kind of state completely normal whenever I've just come off a bout of illness—you know, things like sinus infections or a nasty flu. My own take on it is that it’s just the body's way of purging itself... Now, I can already hear some self-proclaimed health experts jumping in to tell me that isn't how it works, but in my experience, it's a perfectly standard reaction after going through those kinds of periods.
