I am not entirely certain if this discussion has already been started elsewhere, but I noticed the title on a film list and couldn't find any existing threads when I searched for it. I was hoping to gather some collective insights here—what are your overall impressions, and how would you characterize what is actually happening in the story?

I honestly think I stumbled upon the most spot-on movie review ever on IMDb: "It's all about nonsense". Honestly, I’d rather not even dwell on that wasted hour and a half of my life... it was easily one of the most pretentious pieces of cinema I've ever had the misfortune of watching.
It felt like even the actors themselves weren't entirely sure what the hell they were filming, because they just looked completely lost... and when you consider we had such an incredible cast—I mean, Sean Penn, Joaquin Phoenix, and Claire Danes—to call it anything other than a total disaster is just being generous, right? 👎

If I remember right, that’s the one starring Claire Danes and Joaquin Phoenix.
The plot is a bit tricky to summarize, but basically, it’s set in the future. The world is basically ending—it's snowing in Kenya, gravity is failing, and there are bodies lying in the streets of New York City
But none of that really matters because Claire and Joaquin are still in love...

It’s mostly about the vibe. It’s heavy, sad, and melancholy, though the ending felt a little unfinished to me.
It reminds me of Lost in Translation. Personally, I thought the movie was alright.

I actually watched it myself (which is why I’m asking), but I can't shake the feeling that I didn't quite grasp everything about it... and I really wanted to. 😛

I’m a huge fan of Thomas Vinterberg. His movie "Festen" is easily one of my top ten all-time favorites.

So I don't get why he had to make this total mess... and what the hell he was even trying to say. Honestly, I don't think even he knows.

The festival? Could someone please clarify what this is actually about?
