My uncle over in Australia sent me this flyer about a specific plant—he actually calls it "Willow Bark, Gotu Kola"
It turns out Native Americans used this herb to boost energy levels, sharpen memory, help with focus, and even tackle respiratory issues. Apparently, Western herbalists have also found it particularly effective at easing arthritis pain... (if that sounds a bit clunky, please excuse me; I'm translating directly from a pamphlet without much help...)
The way it's described, you eat the leaves right after they're picked—you can even toss them into a salad.
Does anyone happen to know what this is or what we call it here in the States? I’d be incredibly grateful for any insight.
If it helps, I can scan the image and post it here...

I’m not trying to run an ad here or anything... just type www.google.com "Gotu Kola" into the search bar and you'll definitely find some leads. You should be able to track down a phone number or something similar if you look hard enough 🙂

Just a little bit of background on Pennywort—which is really just another name for Gotu Kola, since that's its Latin name (*Centella asiatica*):

Just one more thing... there are actually several different types of arthritis out there, so I can't really suggest this as a standalone fix for everything.

Honestly, I'm blushing over here... I feel like I came across as completely clueless and incompetent—just like we had the chance to see earlier. 🙂
But thanks anyway! 👋

Centene isn't even available here in the States.

It's mostly used for circulation issues, though I think they used it to treat leprosy over in India and Africa.

The raw stuff can definitely irritate your skin.

If I remember correctly, Kal includes some Gotthold extract in their eye formula.

But honestly, it seems pretty obvious that in a dry powder form, it has little to no medicinal value...

The books claim it's a tropical or subtropical plant.

Ever since these crazy weather shifts started happening, I wonder how many years it'll take before Centene starts growing here like a native species? Maybe if someone could just smuggle in a few seeds...

A little info on pennywort (which is just another name for Gotthold, its scientific name being Centene asiatica):

I mean, what's even the point of forums if everyone just solves their problems by typing keywords into Google?

The whole idea is to actually learn something and share that knowledge (and maybe look smart while doing it).🙂

The whole point is to learn something new and share that knowledge (and maybe look a little smart while doing it)...🙂

That was honestly just a roundabout way of showing someone how to get the contact info for a person who supposedly imports this stuff here in the States. I make it a point never to plug a company on a forum unless I've actually used their services myself.

Unfortunately, nobody is importing it right now. But I'll tell you what—the first time I head over to India, if I manage to bring some seeds back, we’re looking at a tropical or maybe even a subtropical climate here.👋

It'll be all about Centene... (meaning we'll finally get smart about this, since I've been reading that it's considered a "brain tonic" by Gotthold).

Wait, did you call that number where they said you could reach out about getting a plant?
