+Anyone here happen to be in Small Town, USA when they were playing the soundtrack for that silent film (Golem)?

Maybe I’m the only one who doesn't think Dub is anything special—I haven't caught them live yet, so maybe a concert would change my mind—but honestly, Sila just doesn't do it for me.
Rage and Public Enemy are in a completely different league. Though, from what I hear, it seems like Atheist only exists for the sake of America; officially, they've already broken up.😉

I used to have everything saved, but I ended up deleting it all because I wasn't feeling great at the time—plus, I was busy working on other film projects. I could totally get it all back now, though. Lately, I’ve just been wandering around filming everything on my iPod, which feels pretty cool :))) haha.
Public Enemy is so good.... This summer, I actually ended up standing right under my mom's window while she was on a call with some business partners (u-u). She was shouting, "Today I tattooed my butt (o-o-o), drew two white swans, and wrote two bucks, buddy (o-o-o), then I drew a little rose bush..." (or whatever the exact lyrics are, but man, that part about the rose bush... legendary)... I honestly thought she was going to chuck that heavy metal company logo she was holding at me... (She probably apologized later like, "She's usually a good kid, she just gets like this sometimes... but hey, she's my daughter")

I don't know, man. I've never seen Dub live either, but I still think they're great. For me, it was just that generational "click"—it just hit home. Atheist is pretty meh to me, and Rage is alright, but they aren't really my jam.

I checked them out once and the first track actually hit, but after that, everything else felt like a carbon copy of the first one—kind of lost interest. But I guess that’s just the whole point of dub, right? 😁

I suppose I like that quote below, though I haven't actually met the guys from Brooklyn, nor do I really see them that way.
From the first time I heard them to repeatedly playing their last album ("Life Begins at 30" with that incredible cover): I love them. It’s just a shame they never seem to tour near where I grew up—they aren't exactly fans of the wild outskirts I call home (Guerrilla Marketing, right?)—but I guess there's always time. Maybe I'll finally catch them during The Thirties.

I find Rage Against the Machine to be an incredibly low-quality band. I've seen them live a couple of times, and honestly? The crowd didn't even move. Neither did the drumheads.
The same goes for California; I can understand a twelve-year-old listening to them—hormones are a powerful thing, I suppose—but anything beyond that age is, to put it politely, pure idiocy!

However, I can't say the same for Kanda, DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince, that defunct group whose sound didn't just resonate with me (though I rarely touch cassette releases these days, so they're losing out), but was tied to so many moments in my life. As a highly subjective person, I tend to get attached to anything with actual meaning. Regardless, "All Good" defined a certain era of my life, and I think it did for the whole country too.

Quoting you here because I basically agree with most of what you said. That was pretty much how I felt when I first heard them, all the way through listening to Life at 30.

Whenever you get the chance, you should definitely see them live. And they do venture out into the "wilds." Last time I caught them, it was out in the sticks near Vienna, and they were sooo good. Honestly, they can be a little lazy when it comes to touring, but the wait is worth it. Personally, I feel like I won out, because that was one of the best shows I've ever seen them play.

That "Desert" track is especially good.

I’ve always had a soft spot for dub and stuff in that vein, but honestly, the only thing I’ve ever heard from Thievery Corporation was that one track on a swamp-themed compilation years ago, and it just didn't hit the mark for me. Maybe if I actually listened to more of their catalog I’d have a real opinion, but right now I’m just jumping into this thread to hear myself talk. 😛

I'm actually quite a fan. I own two of their albums—they’re easily one of the best bands in the States right now.

I find their music provides such a brilliant backdrop for just about everything I get up to... 👍 It’s laid-back, psychedelic, and quite melodic... I suppose I really do love them... 🙂

I find that kind of thing rather tedious, along with all that other nonsense—it just isn't my cup of tea.
