Subtitle issues

How do I get subtitles working in VLC Media Player?
Is there even an option for this in there?
The thing is, even with every codec under the sun installed
I can see the video and hear the audio just fine... but these damn subtitles are driving me crazy...

In VLC Media Player, you can just use the "load subtitles" option.

What's wrong with Radlight?

Windows Media Player just gives me this solid green screen, and then every few seconds these weirdly colored blocks pop up... nothing else.
Gonna try installing Codec Pack now...... heh...

maybe just grab the K-Lite Codec Pack... ha? that green image would actually look right in VLC Media Player then...🙂

This isn't exactly the right subforum for this, but whatever, I'll bite.

Just grab Subtitle Edit... you can use it to tweak your subtitles however you want. Personally, I usually switch the font to Helvetica and bump the size up to 18, making the text yellow 😁.

And I guess what Raymond Palmer8 was getting at is that newer files rely on the K-Lite Codec Pack, so you might as well just install that too.

So, I actually gave it a spin just a few days ago. And man, let me tell you—the subtitle options are weak. Like, seriously weak. Not to mention the punctuation! It kept throwing everything at the START of the sentence or the beginning of every single subtitle line. Total mess, right?
I honestly don't think I saw a single setting to fix that nonsense anywhere.

Plus, when you look at the sheer amount of customization and settings available, BSPlayer totally blows all the other players I've messed with out of the water. It's way more powerful, hands down.
