My doctor just told me I need to stop using clindamycin because she attended a seminar where they were discussing its potential risks. Apparently, there are concerns about it being carcinogenic. 😕
Does anyone know anything more about this?😕

Seriously though, is nobody else using this solution for inflammation? I used to use it all the time as a facial toner or even after shaving. It really works. But now, honestly, I’m starting to get a little worried.😲

I used to apply that to my face all the time, though I'd honestly never heard any rumors about it being harmful 😢

I’ve heard the same thing about it being rough on your skin. Since clindamycin is an antibiotic, using it too much can actually mess with your skin barrier. At least, that's what I've gathered... personally, it didn't really do much for me anyway.

You can find a ton of info about clindamycin online; just plug it into any search engine. I’ve tried it myself, and honestly, it did absolutely nothing for me, even though my breakouts were caused by bacteria—which is supposedly what this stuff is best at treating. To make matters worse, it left me with some lingering spots. From what I understand, it's a topical antibiotic, and like someone else already mentioned, you shouldn't slather it all over your face. You're supposed to just spot-treat the actual acne every once in a while. I know that using clindamycin too much or too often isn't exactly great for you, but I won't get into the technicalities since I'm not an expert or anything. Maybe someone here knows more about the specifics🙂

I still have some stains left over from using it.

.....honestly, me too, I am never putting that stuff on my skin ever again...👎

A friend of mine applies moisturizer three times a day and her skin is practically flawless—not a single spot in sight, just perfectly clear skin

My brother and I both use clindamycin, which our family physician prescribed for us. I tend to use it fairly sparingly these days since my skin has finally settled down, but he’s still battling quite a bit of acne across his face and back. There are times when I find myself applying the clindamycin to his back for him—which, if I’m being honest, isn't exactly the most prudent way to go about it given how much it dries out the skin. Technically, you're supposed to apply it strictly to the individual blemishes themselves, but when it comes to his specific situation, it seems to be the only thing that actually provides any relief.

I’ve been using it too... and my skin has actually cleared up quite a bit. I can't speak for you or your brother, but my doctor insisted that after applying the clindamycin, I need to follow up with a good moisturizer to keep things hydrated.

I'm right there with you. I used to dab it on my forehead and those random breakouts on the side of my face. It worked wonders for me, but man, you absolutely HAVE to use some kind of cream afterward or your skin will just scream at you.

Personally, I found that Skinoren was the absolute best for me.
