Man, I actually went to see Musk at the Cinema while running a 102-degree fever. I was basically screaming through the whole thing—laughing one second and then totally losing it during the drama. Blood, blood, blood... 😁 😁 😁

I actually caught that one just the other day. It’s definitely a multi-layered experience.👍

I watched it too, but I just couldn't find my way into the story or actually care about the main characters. Visually, it’s striking—the fight scenes are solid and feel grounded—but throughout the entire runtime, I never felt any real tension or emotional depth, unlike something like >. The premise itself—them needing to return to Korea while facing off against the Mingovacs at a fortress they have to defend—sounds like a great setup for this genre, but the execution just didn't land for me. I had the exact same issue with > >. I generally love movies with this kind of theme, but I suppose those filmmakers from East Asia just approach storytelling in a way that I can't quite connect with...

The movie is decent enough. But that actress, Zhang Ziyi, or whatever her name is... Ugh. 🙏 🙏

If you’re craving those old-school fights from a much more romantic era—seriously, run to your local video store and grab this DVD. One big plus? They aren't even speaking English. Another huge plus? It uses those classic one-on-one weapons—you know, axes, spears, swords... Honestly, I’m just so over the constant explosions and cars blowing up because they bumped into a trash can. I've had enough of the endless hostage rescues and all those tired Hollywood tropes we're constantly fed... Give me a squad in armor holding off a cavalry charge any day! I want arrows finding gaps in armor, swordplay, and that deadly dance of spear masters... The fights are incredible—sometimes it's hard to tell who's cutting whom, or a limb or head might fly off, but hey, it works...

Did I mention Zhang Ziyi is in this? 🙏 🙏 🙏 The girl is pure beauty; slender, long black hair, stunning eyes, and an even better smile... 🙂 I've watched Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon countless times just for her and that sword dance she does. It's straight-up poetry in motion. 🙏 🙏 🙏

Yeah, I really dig how almost none of the main cast are overexposed actors—that’s a huge win. Plus, the cinematography is top-tier.
The best part, though, is just how engaging the movie is. It features this incredibly dangerous, low-key character who nobody takes seriously... right up until he decapitates someone.
By the way, the theatrical cut here in the US is actually 40 minutes shorter than the international version.
Also, I see there's already a thread about this movie.

Sorry, I totally missed that there was already a thread for this—I’m just still kind of reeling from that movie...
So, come on, tell me everything! I'm heading back to the theater to see it through to the end. 🙂

Heh, you really should have watched the whole thing first.
Now I finally see how you managed to rack up 15,000 posts.*

*My mistake, I meant thousands.

My only real gripe with Jenda is that the runtime drags a bit. It’s not like I have ADD or anything—but honestly, the movie could've easily been cut by thirty minutes. Otherwise? It was fantastic.

Honestly, after watching it, I wanted to change my username to Yeosol the very next day. 🙂

I tried, but even though I figured out how, I couldn't actually make it happen. 😁

I honestly didn't care for that movie at all👎
It was just incredibly boring to me.
I guess when you compare Asian cinema, Tiger and Dragon is a billion times better than Musk

I tried, really, but even though I figured out how to do it, I couldn't quite make it work. 😁

Maybe ask Shadowfax (ex Sherry), she’s basically an expert at this stuff. 🙂 🙂

p.s. How do you think we're supposed to pronounce your handle then? We'll probably break our tongues trying to say something Korean... 😁

yeosol/Mark Hughes36 - I kind of dig this combo. 😁

Man... that’s actually really good. It almost feels like reading lines straight out of a movie script. 😁

It’s not like I didn't watch it or anything...
I spent two whole days trying to get through it 😁 but I kept getting interrupted constanty.

Since so many people recommended it, I was pretty stubborn about finishing it.
I was expecting something like Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, but... honestly, it was a letdown.

Aside from all the fighting—which, to be fair, is directed perfectly—the story and the acting feel a bit hollow. I found myself just focusing on specific scenes because... well, maybe everyone else felt like they were missing something too.

The Mongolian boss has a great look, but he's the villain.
Geneal Choi is gorgeous, but he feels a little too soft.
Yeosol is, like someone mentioned, the kind of powerhouse who could probably take down a few Dragons for breakfast, but man, she barely says a word. Plus, she spends half the movie staring at the floor, so at first, I actually thought she was the bad guy.

The princess is definitely the standout for me. 😁 I mean, I wouldn't mind being a princess if it meant everyone was fighting over me.
If only the guys here in the States looked even half as good as the guys in this movie...
...then I’d probably hand out an Oscar to this film right this second. 😁

Oh, sorry, I forgot about that Doochoang guy—or whatever that American actor's name is—who's constantly complaining and grinding away.
He’s actually the best part of the movie, but please, don't you guys ever try to follow his example!

As for Yeosol—well, like someone said, she looks like she could take on a couple of Dragons for breakfast, but man, she barely says a word! Plus, she spends half the movie staring suspiciously at the ground... I actually thought she was the bad guy at first.

- Every movie is good, depending on how evil the villain is. 😁
- That armor is kind of ugly. I mean, okay, red is fine—hides the bloodstains better—but still...
- She isn't looking down sneakily; she's just acting according to her social status and her people's traditions.

Henry Anderson47 said:The princess is easily the hottest one. 😁 I’d totally be a princess if everyone was fighting over me all the time!
If only the guys back home in the States would take a page out of this movie's book...
...then I’d hand over an Oscar to this film immediately. 😁

That princess is a total smokeshow. 🙂 🙂
And as for taking inspiration from some long-haired aggressor swinging a spear, decapitating people, and mounting horses...

I guess I’m mostly just stuck on how bad that armor looks. 😁

aha, so it's that whole "I'm just a servant so I have to look at the floor" thing? From what I saw, that doesn't stop him from kneeling before the princess or at least bowing to her—and he literally tried to behead her!!! So how would you 🙂 go about cutting her head off if he's doing all that? 🙂

The princess is a total babe. 🙂 🙂
And regarding him showing respect to that long-haired aggressor who's swinging spears, decapitating people, and riding horses like crazy...

Well, he isn't really aggressive, maybe he just has too much hair, so that's why...😂

The kid got a little cocky later on, didn't he? That's just how guys are these days... 😁
