oomph said:Those two nobodies—Seljo and the shepherd—wrote that. They claim they’re just joking, but in reality, they are nothing more than absolute hillbillies.

Beyond their blatant lack of musical knowledge, they clearly haven't mastered basic literacy,
and they possess absolutely no sense of humor, despite their delusional belief that they are hilarious.

They are single-handedly ruining the reputation of Klik.

Fine, the topic here isn't Klik, but one should observe how both the shepherd and Seljo seem determined to spit on everything they touch.

Enough about them, though... over & out.

It’s actually "Fakofbolan," if you want to be accurate...😁

There's a show in Warsaw on April 8th. I'm thinking about going just for the nostalgia, to see how they sound these days. 😁 😁 😁 🙄

Goddammit! They changed the venue at the absolute last minute. 😠 😠

Right after I spent all that time fighting through the snow and wind to get there!! 🙄
And then they move the set to the complete opposite side of town. 😠

What a joke.

Alex Martinez4 said:....I was digging through some old American magazines and stumbled upon a mention of the Sisters of Mercy....it actually gave me a good laugh, which made me remember we even have a dedicated thread about them over here...so I figured I'd pass this along to you all....

"The Sisters of Mercy are hands down the most ridiculous gothic band ever, led by their fanatic frontman Andrew Eldritch—who apparently prefers wearing two pairs of pants at once instead of underwear, and has basically been the only actual member of the group for years now—and they're hitting the road again. How? We don't know, we answer."

It’s pretty obvious that whoever penned that article actually understood the music being discussed...🙄 👎

P.S. That writer probably lumps Him in with those famous gothic bands too. 🙄

It is quite obvious that whoever composed that clearly possesses a fundamental understanding of music...

Or perhaps they simply hold an opinion that differs from yours, though given that the pieces were penned by the shepherd and Seljo, everything is perfectly explained...😉

P.S. They likely categorize Him within that famous gothic band.

...not "they," but "you"...😉 ...Him hasn't been mentioned thus far, which implies they won't be mentioning them anytime soon....

Now I finally understand why every fifth thread revolves around Thompson.🙄

To provide a bit of a shocker: I consider myself the ultimate fan of both Sisters and Thompson (yes, including Marko Perkovica)...

I own everything from the Sisters (I used to hunt down all their bootlegs back in London)...
I was at their concert on November 8, 1990, in New York, just as I was at the Astoria Theatre in London on February 20, 2001.
They are exceptional.
As for MP—Thompson is also fantastic; I’ve attended about ten of his shows in the States (including the one at the Rose Bowl on September 15, 2002) and I am the proud owner of several bootlegs.

I can already see the question marks hovering over your heads... hahaha...
But it is the truth. Both Sisters and Thompson possess an incredible energy, both are brutally honest in their craft, and both deliver a heavy sound.
And what is this notion that Sisters are "alternative" while Thompson is "mainstream"? That distinction is completely irrelevant.

Aside from them, there isn't much else I care for. In fact, there is nothing.

Of course someone does...
I certainly do!

ironcanyon4 said:The album is titled Gift, and Sisterhood is actually the band's name... It was just a transitional moniker used after the group split into two separate factions.!!!!

Tracks include: Jihad
Colours
Giving ground

Finland red, Egypt white
Rain from heaven

By the way, it's a terrible album... you aren't missing anything here. 👎
....I only bought it because back in those days I used to collect everything they released, regardless of how poor the quality actually was....
🙄

Personally, I find the album quite good...
And if one considers that it was rushed through production in a mere twenty days specifically to legally dismantle Mission, then it is even more impressive...
Since I have an affinity for EBM, I have an affinity for Sisterhood as well...
Though, let's be honest, the Sisters of Mercy are way ahead of them....

Legend has it they got started back in 1980 in some basement in Leeds.
Andrew Eldritch and Gary Marx. That same year, "Damage Done" dropped on a 7-inch. It eventually turned up on that *Some Girls Wander by Mistake* compilation. Up until '85, they were just churning out singles. Then came *1st & Last & Always*. '87 gave us *Floodland*—which is easily their best, IMO—followed by *Vision Thingo* in '90. Honestly? Everything after that is straight garbage.
Now, look, I wouldn't call myself a die-hard fan or anything, but I gotta brag a little: I actually own every single track they’ve ever recorded. Every single-out, every album, even those live covers of other artists. And no, don't bother sliding into my DMs asking for stuff. I'm not ripping 🙂
for you.

And if one takes into account that this was all drafted within a mere twenty-day window—specifically designed to provide the grounds for a court to dismantle Mission entirely—does that not make the achievement even more impressive?
Since I have such a deep appreciation for EBM, it follows naturally that I also hold a profound affinity for Sisterhood...
Even though the Sisters of Mercy are miles ahead of everyone else...

🙂

I fail to see what exactly was so remarkable about that, but fine—enjoy yourself if you must!👋

Personally, I have quite an affinity for the electro sound (EBM), so those rhythms and melodies on Gift really appeal to me...
I am well aware that most people can't stand Gift because it leans too heavily into electronic territory, unlike the guitar-driven sounds of FLA and Vision Thingo...

Hey, I was wondering if anyone here is planning on heading to the concert in Chicago on April 4th? Also, does anyone happen to know how much the tickets are going for lately?
Man, I really wish I could make it, but I just can't... 😢 🙂

06.04. in Chicago... think I'm gonna make it out there... they're playing in this super intimate venue where you basically can't get too far from the band--it'll be awesome

And what’s even worse is that if I end up heading to the Madison Square Garden show on April 2nd, my weekend is going to be an absolute mess... but then again, I won't even be able to make it to that concert after all... it feels so close, yet so incredibly out of reach..... sigh... 😢 😢 😢

I'm definitely going 🙂 I can't wait, though I have zero clue what tickets are gonna run me this time... last time they were like 200/$73 so I'm guessing it'll probably be around that same amount again

I’m honestly on the fence about going. I went last time and felt pretty bad about those $73, but hey—at least I can say I actually saw the Sisters live. If I pull a double down and go again now, I don't know what the payoff would even be.

Well, damn... just go see the Sisters instead of Nightwish then...🤷
if they're more your vibe...😉

Yeah, true, last time was seriously such a letdown... but maybe just try giving them one more shot 🙂

I’d totally go if I didn't have a bunch of other shows lined up that I'm dying to see—honestly, my schedule is a mess right now. If I end up with some extra cash left over after everything else, I'm there. If not, well, sucks for me, I guess.
