Oh man, Marvin Gaye? Seriously? I mean, where does he fit in with this group of martyrs?

I used to think he was a bit sleazy, but honestly, the song itself is just so smooth—even if it feels a little greasy—it’s still really good.🙄

Tell your sister—The Smiths belong in the trash. 😛 I mean, they aren't terrible, but they aren't exactly top-tier either. 🙄

Kevin Chavez3 said:Duh, obviously Joy Division isn't some weak link... That "np" just stands for "now playing," basically what's spinning right now.

Okay, totally misread you there. 😉

Michael Bolton—honestly, everything he puts out feels just so... slimy.
Wham!—you know, that one Christmas track and the one that goes "wake me up before you go"

As for the local stuff:

Flying Squadron— 🙂

But if we're talking about an absolute classic that hits every generation—it's gotta be Daniel "Duuuuuuuuliii"

Honestly, Kylie is just something else. Like, she’s totally a high-end gold digger, but man, she does it with such incredible style.

How many times do I have to say it? Harry Belafonte is the gold standard, and he sure as hell isn't cheesy. You just need to listen to "Coconut Woman" or "mama Look-a-Boo boa" to realize how much soul is actually there! 😁

That blue-haired guy above finally remembered—"Last Christmas" is the ultimate cheesy anthem, which is exactly what this thread is about. I highly doubt anyone here actually enjoys Michael Bolton... 😕

this one:

She lit a cigarette, both hands tucked behind her back
Thought she was hungry, if you consider that kind of choice
Only you can truly attempt to see who I am deep down
She whispered, that only you would understand
The way i Feel toni-ight She lost Her virtue before She could write i lost mina too , on my very First Night with you You'll have to Guide me , Thes impossible schemes you make me steal

She lost her virtue before she could write
I lost mine too, on my very first night with you
You'll have to guide me, these impossible schemes
You make me steal, unstealable things
She blamed all those excesses on the American dream
Something so rarely witnessed, and never truly seen

Imagination - could make a man of you
Imagination - could make me love you too
Imagination - is all I want from you

Since we’re already deep in this nostalgia trip about tea parties and elementary school days... what about A-ha and "Take on me"?..😁 😁
Good grief.....whenever that song hits me...

"Take On Me" is the absolute winner for me! But honestly, a-ha had a few other bangers in that same vein, like "Hunting High and Low" and "The Sun Always Shines on TV." They’re just such easy, feel-good tracks... 😁

Q-master said:Once again, we see an error; the group t.A.T.u. isn't just greasy, they are downright obnoxious!

Is this not yet more evidence that this forum serves as nothing more than a gathering place for various freaks?!!!!😁

I find Justin Timberlake to be somewhat lacking in substance, yet I must begrudgingly admit that the song actually resonates with me... It is a rather embarrassing confession to make, truth be told...😳

I feel like Steven Ruiz might have misspoken there. I mean, how can something be "slick" and "good" at the same time? Those two don't really go together in my book. Honestly, I think "overproduced" is a much better way to describe what we're talking about. For example, I think Madonna's Ray of Light is just pure perfection.

Haha... well... I guess I put exactly what I was thinking into words... cheesy, but damn good...
For instance, if someone tried to tell me that Mariah Carey isn't total cheese... I’d probably just throw my hands up in defeat, but at the same time, her version of Against All Odds is absolutely legendary for being that kind of cheesy goodness. So, it's exactly like I said... super cheesy, but honestly just great...
