I actually ended up really digging this fantasy thriller. To be honest, based on the trailer alone, I wasn't expecting much—trailers always seem to overpromise, and I usually walk away feeling let down when the actual movie doesn't live up to the hype.
There’s a nice streak of dark humor running through it, too, along with some weird scenes you just don't typically see in this kind of genre.

First, some warnings:

If loud rock music isn't your thing, skip this one!

If you can't handle explicit violence, skip this one!

If you aren't into gratuitous nudity, skip this one.

If you don't like Satanism, skip this one!

If you can't stand Nick jumping out of every single moment, definitely skip this movie!

If you aren't a fan of high-octane cars, skip this one!

Now for the important part: This movie is freaking awesome!

Pure fun. Great grindhouse structure, a bit campy, excellent dark humor, ridiculous situations, making fun of everything, and eye-popping 3D... as Americans would say...

I agree with Drew Sanchez82. Watching the trailer, I thought it wouldn't be anything special, but they showed very little of the best parts. The actual vibe of the film is totally worth it. Aside from one failed scene with a water tank (bad CGI/models), the movie is exactly what it claims to be. A Shoot 'em up over-the-top dark humor actioner filled with cars, guns, and boobs. One scene is even straight-up lifted from that movie.

So, if that's your style, go for it.

Also, this is one of those movies where Nick is actually good. The role really suits him.

Yeah, that scene with the tanker truck? Easily one of the best moments in the whole movie.
Especially when they started throwing in those big explosions right alongside "That's the way I like it." Honestly, it was pretty hilarious.

Just checked the local theater listings... Edward Price6 hit the nail on the head regarding this movie! Honestly, I usually can't stand this genre, but this one is pure, unadulterated entertainment. It’s total trash cinema—packed with nudity, mindless violence, roaring muscle cars, and ridiculous plots—but it’s got a fantastic lead actress 🙂

The movie was honestly such a total flop, but man, Nicolas "meanmotherfucker" Cage was just incredible 👍

I’ve been hunting around for the right thread for this movie for ages, only to realize I already posted about it in the "2011 films" section... oops... 🤦 🙄

Not to sound like a broken record, but...
I mean, honestly, if you really think about how much work went into making those games feel this polished, it’s just kind of wild to see how fast everything moves nowadays... it's crazy...

Signing on to all of you... 😁

Daniel Rivera27 - honestly, that one line right there 👍 .... but man, once things started moving after that.... you just wouldn't believe it 🤣

PS - Nick is always a solid choice ☕ 😛

The movie is an absolute joke—but honestly, that’s fine 👍

Just solid, zero-pretension fun for ninety minutes...

Amber Heard is a goddess—physically speaking, at least ☕

And then just seeing him walk out of that wreckage so coolly, stepping onto the hood of the car right next to it to give Nick and the rest of those thugs that cold stare... 🤣 👍

After crushing it with those massive hits back in the nineties, I guess Nick has just completely lost his touch with movie selection. Even a fresh haircut isn't doing him any favors lately—most of his stuff is just straight-up garbage. Honestly, it’s a total letdown, just like SOW was. Maybe it’ll be interesting for some ten-year-olds, though.😁

Look... I'm only seven, so this stuff is actually pretty cool to me... 🥳 😁

After seeing so much fake CGI nonsense in movies lately, you just start craving those classic, old-school action stunts and practical effects, and this one honestly delivers them all but cranked up to eleven... Nobody was even talking about the "artistry" or whatever, we were all just there for the ride, and honestly, most of us still think it’s a blast even ten years later... 😛 😁

Even with Cage being completely bald now... he still looks good... 😉 😍

Totally, and let's not forget, this might just be the second craziest character Nicolas Cage has ever played since his legendary "don't mess with me" role as Cameron Diaz's version of Edgar Allan Poe 🙏

So you're telling me Ghost Rider doesn't even count in this conversation... 😍

Just checked out the page for that movie... honestly such a classic vibe, really makes you miss those old-school Hollywood thrillers from back in the day...

Man, we really should've gotten a Ghostbusters sequel back in 2012... 😍

I ended up cutting it short after about ten minutes. Honestly, it just wasn't really my thing, I guess.

which movie 🙏
it was honestly just decent entertainment for a couple of hours.
The Accountant in the tank 🙏🙏🙏 I think I rewatched that specific scene maybe ten times or so 🤣
I guess I was just expecting the lead actress to strip or something, but hey, you can't have your cake and eat it too 🤣

The movie was decent enough, I suppose, but it felt strangely like a straight-to-DVD B-movie. Honestly, even Nicolas Cage hit a bit of a low point with this one.

I’m basically signing off on the whole thing, but instead of quoting the entire post, I'll just grab the absolute best part. 👍

Seriously though, this flick is killer and honestly such a blast! 🙏

Nicolas Cage was incredible, and so was Amber Heard—she really knows how to hold her own whether it's an action flick or a horror movie, she just nails that vibe perfectly.

I honestly can't believe it! I always thought I was on my own when it came to loving this flick... but seeing all the fans here makes me so happy. 🙂

It’s such an absolute badass movie!

Look, I'll be the first to admit I'm a huge fan of Nicolas Cage; even his worst stuff is usually worth a watch if you're looking for something fun, but Drive Angry is just top-tier, high-octane action insanity.
