dustypuma5 said:So I was just sitting there ☕, then you show up and flash 🙂 like you're actually trying to get me into 🙂. I threw out 🤦 and 🙂 to make it look like I was 🙂 and just didn't care. Then you grabbed 🙂 and started 🧐, and I realized you'd probably even 🙂 if I didn't go along with it.

I just took 🙈 and said: fine, let's head to the bedroom.

I guess it’s all just about context. Honestly, we probably need a manual on how to use emojis properly. hehe

Once we got to the room, I told her: 🆙 pick whichever one you want.

Those aren't even the official emojis from our forum—they didn't actually make the cut during the emoji selection contest—so, honestly, if you find them offensive, you're totally within your rights to issue a ban. 🙂

Give me a break. We’re all acting like we’re more holy than the Pope here. I don't see any reason why we shouldn't just use every damn emoji available. 🙄 Honestly, whoever is running to the moderators to report things like :asshole: or :2up: is a total bubble boy who doesn't belong on this forum. It's ridiculous. 🙄🙄🙄🙄

Well, you're right, this image is absolutely perfect for the Politics subforum.

Now I'm just sitting here wondering which one she actually went with.😁

I think this ☕ is actually the worst emoji out there—it feels so condescending, you know? Like it’s looking down its nose at you from the side. It really gets under my skin (even though I’ve definitely used it before). The other ones—the way more blunt and rude emojis—are honestly just funny to me, regardless of the situation. But this one—🤦—is my absolute favorite. You don't even need words for it, and I don't buy the idea that it's meant to belittle people; to me, it just perfectly captures that specific "fuming" reaction someone is having.🙂

Oh yeah, I’m with you on that. ☕ A slap in the face is a thousand times more effective than some more-or-less harmless :asshole:. It’s got this scavenger vibe to it. Kind of like when Dr. House starts tearing someone apart just because he can, especially when he's dealing with some dim-witted guy like Joe, whose biggest achievement in life is probably repeating a sentence that includes his own mother and a dog. 😁

Oh, boy, here we go.

Just another typical post featuring this 🙄

got nuked via expedited procedure because apparently they needed to "tone down the rhetoric."

What can I say? Tough times for people who actually enjoy a little sarcasm.

Interesting.
I am generally against bans—unless we are talking about blatant, obvious abuses of power!

Isnet freedom actually a thing anymore, or is that also being phased out...🙂

And what exactly is the purpose of that smiley?
An insult? A joke? Pure condescension? Or something else entirely...?

I was under the impression this was a place for sharing actual perspectives—not getting met with a facepalm for doing the same.
One learns something new every single day...

You just dug up a thread from a year ago. 🙂

So, here’s the deal with Jose White18's smiley face. 😁

I'm all about the emojis. Even the offensive ones, I guess. 😍

Emojis. 🙂

Since I'm already here anyway. 😁...
Hey admins, maybe you could let us use regular emojis in the Greetings section? Just a thought. 😁 I really miss using emojis over there. I’ve got this whole collection of them, but I just can't seem to post them on that site. 😢

Look, even if I'm usually not the most serious person around, I'm actually being serious this time. 😁

I know. Fully aware.
Is that an issue?

Did you actually bother reading the thread first, or are we just going to keep running in circles like a broken record?

Not if you actually have something smart to contribute. 😁
But that doesn't seem to be your thing. 😬

hollowtrucker77, pay attention! Don't just skim. 😳

So, will you allow external emojis in the celebrations thread? image My wife is due any day now, so I need to be able to spam all those cool emojis for the little guy. 😍

edit: You guys did maintenance again, and somehow I didn't get banned. image

I did. I simply offered my opinion...
I somehow maintain the conviction that this is the entire point of a forum—to present and exchange perspectives so that, perhaps, one might learn something new, whether from oneself or others...

I stand against censorship—though I realize to some degree it is inevitable—and since I have already felt the effects of both forum moderation and various sanctions, I felt compelled to share my perspective...

My apologies to everyone if I caused any trouble... 🤦 .
I truly don't grasp the need for all this drama—or the condescension regarding whether one has "read the thread"...

Well, here we go... 🙈

hiddenotter98, look, I think the real move here would be to actually kick off a fresh topic or maybe dive into something we haven't even touched yet, rather than just sitting here endlessly rehashing the exact same old tired arguments over and over again.
I mean, is it actually legal to walk into a store and buy a kitchen knife?
And if you do, does having that knife give you some kind of green light to go around stabbing people with it?
Does the fact that you can legally purchase a chef's knife somehow imply that using it to puncture someone is perfectly fine?
...
