I finally sat down to watch this movie the other night and I have to say, I was absolutely floored by it. There’s just something about Sean Bean in those roles where he’s decked out in armor with a sword that just works perfectly for him... and that dark, heavy atmosphere? They really nailed it, pulling me right into that era completely. It does such a brilliant job of illustrating the sheer, overwhelming power religion held back then—how it was actually wielded and applied through all those hallmarks of superstition... you know, basically fanaticism in its purest, most raw form...

during one particularly intense opening scene involving the burning of a supposed "witch," I actually burst out laughing after a close-up of one peasant who was just screaming buuuurrrn herrrr at the top of his lungs, mostly because my mind immediately jumped straight to that identical scene from Monty Python (Holy Grail) 😁

So, this is yet another flick where Sean Bean ends up dead, and don't even get me started on how he got stuck in that massive typecasting rut ever since his role as Boromir in LOTR. 😁 Honestly, the movie had way more potential if they’d just focused on making a gritty, realistic medieval drama instead of tossing in all that druid nonsense. Still, much like in Centurion, there's plenty of brutal action to go around, so if nothing else, it’s worth a watch just for the carnage.

Picked it up, mostly because of Boromir 😁

Great movie—though I should probably give a heads-up to anyone expecting non-stop, crazy medieval battle scenes: you might be disappointed. There is definitely action, but that isn't really what this film is trying to achieve

I personally found the story quite engaging, and Sean Bean absolutely nailed his role—plus, even a young Osmond holds his own here

Just finished the BRRip.
A solid watch, though it’s definitely hard to imagine anyone else in the lead role.
I’ve rewatched the fight scenes a few times now, and I really think Bean needs a break from these kinds of parts; at this rate, I'm worried he'll be swinging a sword through the streets of New York City next. 🙂
The guy is completely immersed.
There are so many scenes where he runs into the frame with a face that looks like he’s genuinely prepared for slaughter.

I watched that movie... the best part is when that attractive Indian princess wants a "favor" from him, but he's too proud and turns her down. 😁.....

By the way, Black Death is quite a solid film.
Bean is fantastic, though that’s hardly news, right?
That scene where he gets ***spoiler**** was incredibly intense. Specifically, his dialogue right before it was just powerful. 🙏 🙏
