Greetings.

I wasn't entirely certain whether this belonged under health or cosmetics—though, since I am searching for a more permanent solution rather than a temporary fix, this forum seems the most appropriate venue for such a query.

There is a specific area on my scalp where a scar from a childhood injury remains; while the wound itself healed long ago, the skin in that particular spot is entirely devoid of pigment. Does anyone know if there are actual medical methods available to address this type of scarring? I have spent quite some time scouring the internet, yet most of what I encounter are superficial cosmetic "fixes" that promise much but often deliver very little.

I did consult a dermatologist, though their response was... let's call it unhelpful—a sort of discouraging trifecta consisting of: 1) we aren't sure, 2) we lack the necessary equipment, and 3) it simply isn't possible. Therefore, if anyone here knows someone who has successfully dealt with hypopigmentation, or if you could recommend a truly skilled dermatologist, I would be most grateful. 🙂
