Look, there’s no denying that on Reddit, there are certain individuals who probably deserve their own separate branch on the evolutionary tree, but even when they get hit with those horrific bans from this little corner of the web, they still have a right to appeal.
Can I just ask—why does it take several days, sometimes even over a week, to actually get a response to legitimate inquiries from the higher-ups? And why is the answer usually half-baked and incredibly condescending?
I totally get it, really. I know the moderators spend most of their time living in the real world and aren't exactly on call 24/7. I respect the fact that they’re volunteering for a job I wouldn't touch even if someone paid me, and yeah, they're human beings with all the beautiful and messy flaws that comes with being alive.
But seriously, isn't it kind of a joke that Jack basically has to intentionally break the rules (the "wait 5 days after an incident" rule, lol!) just to get any sort of reaction at all? And then he gets slapped with a 30-day ban for trying to seek some semblance of justice?
Given the sheer number of idiots drifting through here, I don't think you should be so quick to dismiss established users. Even if I don't always see eye-to-eye with the guy, he’s one of our own. He's... well, he's a gem. A dark, moody gem, sure, but a gem nonetheless.
I'm also calling for an apology and for access to be restored to Unknown, User123, and VUS. Maybe throw in a box of chocolates as an apology for the mental anguish, along with everyone else who stood their ground against the hordes of boring bureaucrats who just love pushing buttons.
