So, I noticed there wasn't a dedicated thread for this movie yet, which is a shame because it’s easily one of my all-time favorites😍, so I'm curious to hear what you all think about it.

Here’s the trailer for anyone who hasn't seen it yet😉

I watched it. The movie wasn't bad, per se, but I was expecting it to hit the same level as Schindler's List. Maybe that's why it didn't really grab me? I’d heard before that it was supposed to be a total tear-jerker, which is usually my thing, but honestly, it didn't move me much at all.

Man, you can't go wrong with Schindler's List. That one is a masterpiece.👍

Man, that ending just absolutely wrecks you.

The kids really nailed those performances, though, and honestly, the whole movie was incredible—I’m giving it a solid 8/10.👍

I mean, I was totally expecting something along the lines of Schindler’s List, but honestly, this wasn't half bad either. Those little boys just completely broke me... and that ending? Yeah, I definitely couldn't keep it together. Such a beautiful movie.

I actually ended up in tears reading the book—I haven't gotten around to the movie yet, though I definitely plan to... but honestly, that kind of subject matter always hits me right in the feels.

*** SPOILER ***

I just finished watching it, and honestly? I’m not really feeling it. It would have been so much better if Bruno had actually managed to save Shmuel—then they wouldn't both have ended up meeting such a tragic end. I mean, come on, he could have grabbed some pliers, cut through that wire, and just kept Shmuel hidden in a doghouse until the Allies arrived or something. 😍
The one thing I actually liked about the movie is how it tries to show the sheer absurdity of war through the eyes of a kid. Bruno just wants to hang out and play with Shmuel, but he has no clue why that’s even an option. He’s just looking for a friend, especially since his sister has been totally brainwashed by all that extremist propaganda. 😍

Posts regarding the potential exploitation of the Holocaust have been removed. For those kinds of topics, you'll need to look into other PDFs.

Oh, please... "tears in her eyes," how sentimental. 😉

Hahahaha, man, you’d basically be watching a completely different movie if you changed everything like that.😁

On the surface, it’s just a straightforward, easy watch, I guess. But if you actually look closer, there’s so much going on under the hood—layers upon layers of heavy themes and raw emotion. Seeing the Holocaust through the innocent eyes of a child... it just hits different. It's pretty haunting, honestly. Definitely worth a watch if you have the stomach for it. 10/10

Honestly, this movie is an absolute masterpiece from start to finish.
It’s one of those rare stories that really stays with you long after the credits roll...😢

The acting really missed the mark for me.
The movie itself is solid—heavy, fateful, and definitely leaves an impression on you by the end.
But the performances were just poor. Vera and Fermig held the whole thing back.

I don't know about that! I didn't feel like they missed the mark, mostly because my focus was entirely on the kids.

It’s such a profound, gut-wrenching piece of storytelling when you view it through the eyes of a child... honestly, I feel like we should be making both the book and the movie mandatory reading in our elementary schools across the country. We desperately need more content with this kind of weight and substance in our curriculum...
