Hi there.

I’ve run into a bit of an issue and wanted to see if anyone here has dealt with this before. Lately, I've been noticing some blood on the toilet paper after having a hard bowel movement. It's been happening frequently enough that I actually grabbed a mirror to check for any cuts or fissures near the anus...
But it turns out the irritation isn't there. Instead, there's a small tear in the skin between the vaginal and anal areas. It feels like a tiny crack that stings whenever it stretches. It usually heals up after a day or two, only to reopen the next time I have a hard stool or if I'm a bit too aggressive with the toilet paper...
Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this? And would a specific cream be helpful for healing it...😕😛

Oh, I have to say, I’ve been dealing with that exact same frustration for about a month now, too. It actually got to the point where I went to see my OB-GYN just to get some clarity on it. She gave me this rather amusing bit of advice—basically telling me I shouldn't be spreading my legs quite so wide during certain movements moving forward :P. As for getting things to heal faster, she suggested avoiding creams entirely, since they can sometimes trap moisture against the wound and prevent it from drying out properly, which just stalls the whole process. Instead, she recommended using a little bit of baby powder, or if that doesn't seem to do the trick, maybe a touch of iodine.

Listen, folks, this isn't strictly a gynecological issue. It’s actually a common problem for anyone dealing with constipation; when you're straining, some tissues stretch more than others, while some might even experience small tears near the opening or slightly further up.

Let's pivot this discussion over to general health.
