I know there’s probably already a thread about this somewhere—I’ll try to dig it up—but I really need help fast here...

Can anyone suggest some natural, alternative remedies for a cough?

The person can't take any actual medication—it's strictly natural stuff only at this point—so what actually works to get rid of it or at least dial it back?

Thanks a ton for the help.

Tzv "spun milk." Grab two spoonfuls of sugar and toss them into a small saucepan. Keep stirring that sugar over the heat until it caramelizes and turns a nice golden brown. Once it hits that color, pour in about 3/4 cup of milk and keep stirring fast. Just keep going until all that sugar is completely dissolved back into the milk.
Drink this while it's as hot as you can handle. Lean right over the steaming mug and breathe in those vapors.

Honestly, this milk and sugar combo kills a cough. It turns a dry, hacking cough into something much more manageable so you can actually clear your chest.
You'll feel the difference by tomorrow morning.
Good luck!

Red onion syrup works wonders for a cough. Chop up two large red onions, toss them into a quart of water, and simmer everything on low heat until the liquid reduces by half. Once it cools down, strain it through a sieve, then stir in some fresh lemon juice and honey to taste.
Take one tablespoon three times a day.

Hazelnut tea.

There’s also this herbal blend in tea bags called Tussimont; it worked wonders for my kids. It’s made in Austria, and I’ve spotted it for sale in pharmacies all over Chicago.
