Got some shots of docs where the text is all blurry. Any way to sharpen this crap up enough to actually read it?

Most photo editors just have a standard "sharpen" tool.

I found this online site, though I'm not sure how sensitive that file is or if it's got your private info on it, but check this out https://raw.pics.io/sharp-image.

Also, I don't know if you're trying to make the text readable or if you just want the whole thing to look a bit crisper...

There’s this one bit of software from CSI that can pretty much pull anything legible out of those grainy, blurry security camera feeds

Maybe it's just a photo, or maybe you could run a snippet of text through some OCR

CSI.. ha ha 🙂

They’re out there reading license plates on Mount Rainier... 🙂

I remember when you could just use some tiny little app for this, but now everyone’s stuck paying for heavy software. I don't even know if these free tools are any good anymore...

Software solutions essentially rely on a massive database of character shapes to pull recognition from the noise.
There is no magic involved...
Could you upload or send over a sample—something non-sensitive? Some OCR tools perform quite reliably, much like what Michelle Bennett5 mentioned earlier.
