Looking for some build advice (excluding peripherals) for roughly $2667.

Budget—it's fine if spending an extra couple hundred bucks gets us a noticeable jump in performance 🙂

It’s for a young civil engineer to use for work—mostly 3D modeling and stuff—plus a bit of gaming on the side.

Thanks in advance 🙂

There’s really no need to go out and grab an X570 board; the ASUS ROG Strix B450-F is more than enough. I’d suggest putting that extra cash toward a bigger Samsung SSD or a better GeForce RTX instead.

Saw he meant a GeForce RTX board. I thought he was talking about something cheaper like $333, but clearly not 😁😁😵

ROG Strix is the move for an Intel Core i5-10400 👍

Also, 32GB of RAM is overkill for most people. Better to stick with 16GB and just upgrade later if you actually need it

For instance, Lumion recommends having 32GB of system memory for optimal performance.

My mistake. I thought we were talking about gaming specs.

Thanks a lot 🙂 Just wondering—is there a specific store where you’d recommend picking that up?
