Honestly, how could you? 😂

Thankfully, my nephews didn't catch on. If they had, one would have been heartbroken, while the other probably would have just started teasing me relentlessly—mostly because he was dying to watch Transformers instead. 😁

But getting back to the main point here: I don't know, I suppose I have a bit of a masochistic streak when it comes to cinema. There is this persistent, quiet hope I carry that if I just sit through a film until the very end, I might actually manage to grasp the deeper meaning behind it all.

This is a solid topic. 👍
The last movie I tried (and failed) to sit through—well, I saw the end, but didn't finish it—was Apocalypto. Honestly? It was pretty gross. Ugh.

I’ve sat through at least the first thirty minutes of these movies, and I can tell they’re actually good—they really catch my interest—but honestly, I just can’t find the motivation to finish them because I’m feeling incredibly lazy lately. Does anyone else feel that instant wave of demotivation the second they see a runtime stretching past two hours? It’s like my brain just shuts down before the movie even gets going.

That’s exactly what I had in mind when I started this thread... not bad movies that aren't worth the effort anyway (I don't even bother starting those) 👍

Yeah, it’s honestly a shame that everyone else didn't see things quite that way, isn't it? 😉

I haven't managed to sit through a single Lord of the Rings movie from start to finish, and believe me, I really did try. It’s just not my thing—I can't stand those kinds of fairy tales. But hey, that's just how I roll.

I started watching Martyrs last night around midnight, but I ended up nodding off during both the first and tenth parts. It wasn't because it was boring—I’d just spent three hours playing soccer and was absolutely wiped out. There's still more left on the hard drive, but I honestly can't find much motivation to finish the movie right now. 😁

I think it’s called The Death Tunnel. Honestly? Just cheap garbage.

I tried watching Apocalypto, but I just couldn't finish it.
Good Year—fell asleep in the theater during both the beginning and the end. 😁
Double Indemnity—started watching at home and passed out. I don't really have the energy to see it through, so I honestly don't know what kind of movie it is. Seems a bit silly. 😛

I find myself forcing my way through almost every film until the very end, only to finish it and immediately want to bang my head against a wall—I truly have no idea what I was thinking 🙂

It is one of those rare titles that I haven't actually managed to sit through yet, Blade Runner. I have attempted to start it on several different occasions, but every single time I felt even slightly tired, I ended up drifting off to sleep mid-movie... and yet, I have such a profound desire to finally experience it properly.

I am still waiting on an update regarding Florine. It would be wonderful to hear some news soon! Gerald Lopez says:

That’s just how it works. You wouldn't judge a music album based on only the first three or four tracks. You have to listen to the whole thing before you earn the right to insult a movie.

I am currently reading about Florine. It is quite an interesting subject. [User Name] says:

Your only option now is to schedule an appointment with him much sooner.

In truth, my harsh critiques stem from a place of genuine passion and high expectations, as I tend to give every single film a fair chance; I consider myself quite an honest critic in that regard.🙂

That is exactly why we start to appreciate the great films even more. 😁

Indeed, such gems are unfortunately quite scarce; one often feels compelled to sit through ten mediocre films just to encounter a single masterpiece worth the time.

Honestly, everything in life tends to follow an average. Out of 100 movies, maybe 10 will be masterpieces and 10 will be total garbage. The other 80 usually fall somewhere in that middle ground between mediocre and pretty good. I find the same pattern holds true for music and literature as well.

I’ll be honest, there are quite a few movies I haven't actually finished. The reasons vary—sometimes they just felt incredibly tedious, or I’d find myself nodding off because the pacing was so slow and I was already exhausted.

The Fast and the Furious — just constant, relentless action over and over.
300 — meh, not really my thing.
10,000 BC — honestly, I can't even decide.
The Godfather — please forgive my filmography, for I have sinned; I just find them way too overrated.
Pulp Fiction — oops, here comes another one.
Kingdom of Heaven - The Four Feathers — yuck.
The Four Feathers — ...
The Black Dahlia — yeah... let's just say it wasn't for me.
Black Hawk Down — just a bit too much for my taste.

And the list goes on; I'm sure more will come to mind later.😬

I still maintain my stance that I would much rather spend my time running through the woods than wasting even a single moment on something low-quality or hollow, regardless of which form of art we are discussing...

Well, we're all out there giving it our best shot. We just have to hold onto the hope that the final product might actually surprise us. It’s all about a rough start leading to a great finish. We have to stay optimistic! :-)
