Ronald Allen said:Let’s get one thing straight—like, 90% of the people on this site are actually decent, normal users. If they were the only ones online, moderators wouldn't even need to exist, let alone be writing stuff like this. The problem is that tiny little group making up the other 10%. Because of them, moderators end up hating their jobs, this whole site, and probably the entire world.
The Internet offers incredible anonymity. It’s way too easy to just sink into an armchair, grab a huge bag of popcorn, crack open a beer, light up a cigarette, and hit connect. You could basically take that old Microsoft slogan “where do you want to go today” and tack on “to cause trouble”. Well, the moderator is there to stop that. Individual freedom always ends where someone else's rights begin. But some people hide behind the screen to harass others or try to hijack digital spaces for themselves. So what happens? The moderator steps in. They warn, edit, delete, or ban. Most troublemakers take it personally or try to prove they're the boss.

Look, if you actually bother to read the article quoted above, and if you happen to fall into any of those "troublemaker" categories, then your complaint doesn't have a leg to stand on. I mean, if this user is out here comparing the old America era with songs about being "beautiful" to modern American anthems—especially after trashing old singers in one thread and praising current ones in another—then they deserve exactly what they got. If the admins disagree, hey, feel free to give me a warning.
So, to sum it up: it sounds like the Politics section is just a roadside bathroom for you—somewhere to take care of business before moving on with your day. Well, someone has to clean up the mess.
P.S. If frch needs a lawyer, I’d suggest finding someone actually famous. ☕
Best,
Ronald Allen
I truly, deeply sympathize.
Let’s be real—being a moderator isn't exactly a walk in the park. But then again, if someone actually hates what they do, why on earth would they sign up for it in the first place?
Look, if you actually bother to read the article quoted above, you’ll see that if you fall into any of the categories of those troublemakers mentioned, your complaint is completely baseless. Seriously. If this user is out here comparing the old America days—using songs like "from sea to shining sea"—to the modern American era by praising current singers while trashing everyone from the old regime on one thread and then hyping up today's stars on another—then they earned the exact same kind of response they got. It's just basic logic. If the admins disagree with me on that, then fine—feel free to issue a warning.
Look, I’m not a lawyer, so I really shouldn't be weighing in on this—but since we're here, I'll say my piece.
I still can’t get over how people misuse the word "regime." It really bugs me.
So, let me sum this up—to you people, "Politics on the Edge" is nothing more than a convenient restroom stop. You pull up, take care of your business, and then speed off to whatever else you have going on. Well, someone actually has to clean up the mess you leave behind.
I really hope using the phrase "urgent necessity" doesn't imply what I think it does in this context—
Don't give me that crap...! That kind of response is totally out of line—even for a bot—because it’s straight-up insulting. I asked a perfectly reasonable, civil question, and this is the kind of reaction I get? Unbelievable.
Anyway—I’ll take the apology from moderator Ronald Allen, and I just hope we can move past this. Let's try to stop tossing around the word "regime" like it's part of everyday conversation—it's a bit much.
