Antarctica. All that snow, winter, ice... it immediately brings back memories of the creature feature vibes from *The Thing*. I just really hope Kate doesn't end up like an aging Kurt... Honestly, Sena was such a lost cause as a director, and even Joel Silver didn't exactly hit the jackpot producing those rushed action flicks with DMX, so maybe there's a slim chance this duo finally finds their groove—even if the whole thing gives me major Stallone's D-Tox vibes. Still, it's definitely one of those movies you'll end up watching regardless...

Looks pretty solid to me, IMO

Honestly, Kate Beckinsale usually picks solid projects, and she’s easily one of my favorite actresses—mostly because she’s incredibly sexy, let's be real, but you can't deny she actually has the talent to back it up too.

I'm crossing my fingers that this movie actually turns out to be worth watching.

She killed it in Underworld, so I’m hoping she’s at least halfway decent in this one.

Kate Beckinsale truly earned her stripes through performances in films like The Last Days of Disco, Laurel Canyon, and Vacancy. Because of those specific roles, she has secured a spot among my absolute favorite actresses. While she certainly looks striking in Underworld and Van Helsing, I personally find those movies to be quite difficult to sit through.

That director is absolute garbage, but I’m still planning to catch this one. Honestly, I feel like I need to see every single movie featuring Kate Beckinsale. I just really hope she didn't sign onto this project solely for the paycheck.

This is actually going to be good; I don't think Sena is really a "trash" director.

Go watch Nothing but the Truth. You'll see exactly how Kate absolutely crushed it. 🙏 She definitely should have been nominated for an Oscar. She doesn't need that garbage like Underworld or Van Helsing; she's capable of way better than that.

Watched it the other day. Even with Kate leading the cast—who's an incredible actress, by the way—the movie just didn't land for me. It was pretty uninspiring. And those whole sequences involving freezing over and flying through the storm? They made zero sense. Like, they can stand there perfectly fine while everything else is blowing away if they're tied down, but the second they unbuckle, they just fly off instantly.

It’s definitely not for 🙏 🙏 🙏, though. Personally, it was just okay for me. I didn't fall asleep from boredom, but it wasn't exactly thrilling or tense either. For instance, it’s a bit predictable, and the trailer makes it look like an action explosion, which isn't really the case. Still, it’s watchable. The story is alright, just a pretty mellow film.
What really struck me was how they portrayed Antarctica and life out there. I definitely wouldn't want to be in that situation...

I get what you mean about the walking part; it felt a little forced. But then again, with winds that intense, you'd probably fly off instantly if you weren't tethered, whereas you might manage to walk if you're secured by a line.

I caught Whiteout the other night. It’s a decent enough flick starring Kate Beckinsale and Tom Skerritt, but honestly, the real draw is the setting. It’s pretty rare to see a movie set in one of those remote US polar bases. I can't think of any other film that uses an Antarctic station as a backdrop, unless you count stvor (though, okay, maybe in the Stargate movies 😁).
