My apologies if this topic has already been covered elsewhere. I’ve developed some strange little bumps—almost like tiny pimples—on the upper inside of my lip, specifically on the left side! 😲 What could this be? Is it possible my immune system is just shot—since the flu absolutely leveled me recently? Or perhaps an allergy or something similar? 😕

What’s the deal with the skin around those pimples? It looks kind of flaky.

It strikes me as being a perfectly standard shade—just like any other typical color

Does that hurt? You might have some canker sores.

The pain is somewhat manageable right now—just a dull ache, really. But once I try eating anything salty or acidic? It’s absolutely unbearable; it feels like a literal burn. I suspect they might be canker sores. Is this kind of thing contagious?

No, they aren't contagious, though it seems there’s a genetic predisposition toward getting mouth ulcers more often. If they're bothering you, just use some Chloraseptic; otherwise, they should typically clear up on their own within a day or two...

It’s possible you irritated your mucous membrane with something you ate. I’ve had situations where things would just flare up after eating an apple—especially if they were heavily treated with pesticides.

Anyway, I tried dabbing a few drops of propolis onto a Q-tip and held it against the pimple. It stung like crazy because propolis has quite a kick, but after a day or two, it finally settled down.

I suspect my stomach flared up because of all the kiwi I was eating—since I had the flu, I ended up consuming quite a bit more than usual.
