Look, I watched that remake way back before anyone even mentioned the original REC movies, so everything felt super familiar. Honestly? Wasn't impressed at all...

But man, that second one!

It was nothing like what I was expecting—that whole virus thing actually starts making sense, spoilers:

The whole demon/devil thing showing up, how it talks through people, then that ending twist...spoiler end

Total ten out of ten.

REC 1... honestly, it's total garbage in my opinion...
I didn't even bother trying the second one after seeing the first, but maybe I'll give it a shot...

Well, I just finished watching this trash...
I used headphones and sat in the dark... I thought that might enhance the experience, but the film is such junk it doesn't even have any jump scares or decent sound design to actually startle you...

Look... the movie explains how the apartment residents turned into zombies... they are possessed...
The possession spreads from one person to another via bites...
I guess the first half of the film is somewhat tolerable, and the camera work was relatively steady enough until they suddenly introduce these new characters. They seem useless and were clearly added without any purpose other than padding the runtime to hit 80 minutes... that is when the movie goes completely downhill...
With those irritating new characters comes all the shaky cam and incoherent screaming intended to create an illusion of chaos... and it stays that way until the credits roll...

Honestly, I would have been satisfied with a straightforward action film where they kill the possessed attackers floor by floor... at least that would have been something...

At the end, they show some retarded demon performing some mouth-to-mouth thing involving an eel, and somehow that's why the survivor lives... I mean, what absolute garbage...

I fell for it the first time, I fell for it again now, but I won't be testing my luck a third time...

I think I realized it even after the first one—that I should run from this stuff—but I guess I just didn't listen to myself...
