Dealing with a hemangioma

The doctor told me the location doesn't matter at all since it's just a tiny spot.

I have a hemangioma on my lip, about 5mm in diameter. It isn't growing, but I'm still considering having it removed. Less about the aesthetics, more because it’s easy to accidentally bite my lip on it. What does the procedure involve, and how much of a scar should I expect?
