Resigning as PDF Politics Moderator effective immediately

If I had to pin down my own political stance, I’d say I land somewhere in the middle—perhaps a true centrist, or maybe a liberal conservative, if that’s even a thing anymore. I find myself consistently voting for the Liberal Party. Honestly, I can't stand the extremes; both the far left and the far right just seem to exhaust me.

The observer is a moderator over at Old America, so it’s perfectly normal for a mod to hail from those former territories.

There’s also that Diaspora PDF, and if I recall correctly, most of the mods over there are living abroad.

And why shouldn't Americans living abroad be allowed to moderate Politics? Are they second-class citizens now? Does Border Patrol control LED strips or start seizing passports?

I never thought I'd be the one saying we need moderation in Mad House, but Sajo, Viper, Mia_, Kolasin, Dick of Ofce, Keijos... even condor_ have completely killed the vibe of Mad House as a spot for satire and experimental talk. Honestly, we should just thank Johny BDL for all the time he didn't spend and the effort he clearly didn't put in—not to mention the expertise he’ll never get the chance to show because of how things are run. 👋

Sorry for crashing this "high-level" discussion, but I had to jump in. I know I haven't been on this forum long enough for anyone to care what I think, but I just want to say why plenty of people like me—people who don't want to deal with clones—are giving up on posting here.

The issue is that an incompetent mod like Johny BDL tolerates guys like Kiamos, Sajo, Viper, Mia_, Kolasin, Dick of Ofce, condor, and Dora... who do nothing but troll, insult people, and spam their garbage. So, he hands out warnings for a reason.
But the real problem is that Johny BDL, in some misguided attempt at "balance"—or maybe because he's just unable to actually ban them permanently—ends up closing threads and handing out penalties to us, even when our posts aren't even in the same league as that trash.
Add to that the fact that this guy doesn't hesitate to pass along threats via PM, and it's pretty obvious he's just not cut out for the job.

I get the feeling driftingdriver actually took this whole moderation gig seriously. He’s caught in the middle—stuck between clueless admins, a bunch of random forum trolls, and his own principles. It feels like he was trying to be genuinely objective, just attempting to bring some actual order and structure to this chaotic sub-forum. Everything here turns into trolling eventually. Every thought gets mocked, and people just parrot each other endlessly. It's absurd, plain and simple.
I don't know what the current mods are even doing, but if you compare them, it's obvious driftingdriver was doing a solid job. The admins should honestly just ask him to come back. And when he does, they need to stop messing with him and let him run things his way—even if it means people like me keep attacking him or picking fights. The current mod team is bottom-of-the-barrel. To them, driftingdriver is king.👍

Honestly, if severance packages were handed out to everyone who had nothing to do with moderation but everything to do with being mindless drones and nursing massive inferiority complexes...
