PC won't turn on

Anyone have a clue why my PC suddenly won't boot? All I hear is the relay in the power supply clicking repeatedly, the fans spin up for a second, and then it just loops indefinitely.

I've tried unplugging everything one by one to troubleshoot. When I disconnect the CPU power cable, the clicking stops and the fans just run constantly.

Has anyone dealt with something like this before?
For context, the motherboard is a Dell Sabertooth Z97, the PSU is a Corsair CS750M, and I can't remember the exact CPU model off the top of my head.

It’s probably a short on the motherboard somewhere in the VRM section where it steps down the 12V to the CPU voltage, or maybe even just a dead processor that’s killing the power supply the second you plug it in. I guess you could try swapping in a different PSU to check

So, we're looking at a motherboard failure most likely?

Most likely, yeah. There's also a slim chance it could be the processor

If you haven't tried it yet, give a BIOS reset a shot. You really don't have anything to lose, even if it feels like you're dealing with a hardware failure on the motherboard or maybe a faulty CPU... But a quick reset won't do any harm.
