If you’re lying flat on your back, you can actually feel the pulse from your abdominal aorta just an inch or two under the skin, which isn't too surprising if you happen to be on the leaner side or even just middle-of-the-road...
I don't think that's an aneurysm, though—those are more like bulging sacs in the vessel wall. Since those walls get super thin, they can snap or rupture out of nowhere, and then things go south fast, and you end up bleeding out pretty much instantly...

I don't want to dwell on the absolute worst-case scenarios just to scare everyone here... In most cases, doctors simply monitor aneurysms if they are 5 cm or smaller. However, if they exceed that size or grow by more than 5 mm annually, surgical intervention becomes necessary. In the meantime, managing blood pressure is vital, ideally through the use of beta-blockers.

Come on, fellow mods, you really scared the life out of her... She’s probably perfectly fine. You guys jumped straight to the worst-case scenario without even thinking...

And honestly? You probably should be. But look, one ultrasound isn't going to hurt you...

Does a Doppler ultrasound of the neck arteries confirm that everything is generally fine with them? Mine came back clear, but I’ve got this weird fluttering sensation in my stomach :S

I’m feeling the exact same thing—honestly, it’s constant—but it isn't just centered around my belly button, it’s more like my whole abdomen is acting up, though I have zero clue what the deal could be😕

Honestly, for most of my life, I’ve occasionally felt this light pulsing sensation around my belly button when I'm lying down. To be fair, I actually find the feeling kind of relaxing. 😁

But since last night, though, I've been feeling something else that has me a little spooked about a potential aneurysm. I'm hoping my research shows it's nothing serious. When I lie on my back, there's this weird pain—almost like a pulse—in my lower left abdomen. It’s pretty uncomfortable because it doesn't go away until I shift positions.

When I got up this morning, I forgot all about it, but as soon as I laid back down after breakfast, it came right back. I tried lying down a few different ways over the next five minutes. The last couple of times, I didn't feel that specific spot, just a slight ache in my lower left back now.

I had an abdominal ultrasound back on March 1st for some gallbladder stuff, and everything looked fine (the report said my aorta is a normal width). Does that mean it's unlikely to suddenly become an aneurysm if it was perfectly fine just a couple of months ago? 😁

Also, I’ve definitely been eating junk for the last two days—just stuffing myself with random foods that really shouldn't be eaten together. Maybe it's just related to that. 🤔

Any idea what this could be? I really don't want to rush to my doctor for every little thing.

My blood pressure is normal and I'm at a healthy weight. 😁

I swear, it feels like I swallowed a giant snake—it’s just this constant writhing and pounding all down my left side, and it’s been going on for three years now. Last year, I went through the whole gauntlet: abdominal X-rays, a gastroscopy, plus all the blood, urine, and stool tests you can imagine. The X-ray showed I’ve got scoliosis on my left side, and my neck? Honestly, it feels like it’s about to snap. Then the gastroscopy pointed to reactive gastritis, and my bloodwork showed high histamine levels from some kind of bloat issue... I am literally dying every single day. I was supposed to get a colonoscopy done too, but I totally chickened out and missed the appointment. After doing all those tests, all they gave me was Esomeprazole for my stomach. I took it for a whole year and it didn't do squat—if anything, I felt worse, so I eventually just gave up on the doctors altogether. Sometimes the pain shoots right into my left shoulder blade, other times it migrates down into my stomach, or settles deep in my lower left abdomen. It’s always worst when I’m lying down; it actually wakes me up from sleep. There isn't a single position where I feel okay. Honestly, there have been moments where the pain was so intense I just wanted it all to end. I’m at a total loss—I don't even know what to stop eating anymore because everything seems to trigger it. And my stomach looks so weird, it just gets incredibly bloated. I’ve been a bit on the heavier side since I was a kid, but I have never had a belly as swollen and huge as this one right now.

Just wanted to give an update: that feeling went away after two days.

Pretty sure I just overdid it with the food.

Try cutting carbs completely for a month and then let us know if anything changes...😉

So, I actually stuck to a strict low-carb diet for three whole years—can you believe that? But then life happened... work got crazy, stress levels hit the roof, and honestly, I just ended up crawling right back to the carbs. Plus, I have this massive histamine intolerance, which is just great. Basically, the second I eat anything with high histamine levels, I feel like I’m getting totally "drunk."
