Those black spots appeared in both my eyes just over four years ago. At first, they were incredibly irritating because they seemed to drift around wherever I looked. I’ll admit, there was a moment of genuine fear—wondering if this was a symptom of something far more sinister—but I kept hoping they would simply vanish. A few days later, during a casual conversation, a friend mentioned she had heard those visual disturbances could be linked to anemia. I accepted that explanation at face value and simply went about my life, choosing not to dwell on it. In my case, the connection felt logical; I had become severely anemic during those specific months (I know this because I attempted to donate blood, only to be turned away four months later due to low iron levels). Given my lifestyle at the time—struggling with self-harm, bulimia, and starvation... I viewed it as a predictable consequence. Those spots eventually became as much a part of my reality as the anemia itself. 😵
I have worn glasses for six years now, attending an annual eye exam to check my prescription and make adjustments if necessary.

It’s just vitreous floaters; I deal with them too. It looks like a little speck drifting around whenever you move your eyes.

If those spots start multiplying, you should probably see a doctor. It could be uveitis, which is a nasty inflammation. Actually, regardless, you should go get checked out. They need to look at your retina.

I first noticed my initial floater back in high school after hitting a club with heavy laser lighting. I also used to go to those underground warehouse raves—lots of lasers there, too. I've had these spots since back then. I guess you just get used to them and eventually stop noticing.

Unfortunately, it’s an issue with ocular opacity—I know firsthand because I’m dealing with it too... My doctor broke the news that it’s a degenerative change, something that just creeps in with age, no matter how weird that sounds given I'm only 30. It’s like getting that first gray hair when you're barely 20...👎
