Whenever I’m finally drifting off to sleep, this rhythmic pulsing starts up—it hits my head, my neck, even my mouth. It’s like, just as I’m starting to nod off, suddenly it feels like my heart is beating right inside my lips. 😕

I didn't get any sleep at all last night because of it, and now I'm trying to catch up on some rest only to have the whole thing happen again. I have this nagging feeling that it wouldn't even be happening if I weren't already so sleep-deprived, but then again, I don't exactly know how to actually fall asleep. 😁

There are even moments where it feels like my entire body is throbbing along with it.

Plus, there's this weird pressure concentrated in one specific spot in my head.

Anyway, does anyone have any idea what this actually is or what I should do about it?

By the way, I’ve actually been dealing with a nagging toothache on that side for a bit now.

It’s entirely possible you’re just feeling it more because you’re hyper-focused on it—you know how it goes when your whole body starts pulsing. Especially if you’re laying your head down on a pillow and you can actually hear your pulse thumping away. But hey, if you aren't just imagining things, you should probably go see a doctor.

Harold Fisher8, you’ve probably started noticing those internal body sounds by now. But look, if they’re becoming too loud or genuinely unsettling—if you’re feeling physically off—it might actually be high blood pressure. One telltale sign is a specific kind of tinnitus, that rhythmic whooshing or pulsing in your ears caused by arterial throbbing rather than just some venous 😁 noise. You really ought to check your BP a few times a day. Just don't forget the golden rule: sit still for ten minutes before you even touch the monitor. You need to just sit there for 10 minutes and then take the reading without getting up. I see people sitting down and then immediately walking over to a machine in the other room to measure it, which defeats the whole purpose. 😁

I don't know, I've talked to a few people who went through this, and honestly, I felt the exact same way before I found out I had some issues with my kidney... maybe you're just incredibly stressed out right now. Either way—don't just ignore it. Go see a doctor. 🙂

I'm guessing this usually hits in the evening. It’s probably just your heart pumping harder, which can sometimes be linked to thyroid issues, so you should probably go get your hormone levels checked. (I dealt with the exact same thing—if I even cracked my mouth open a little bit, my teeth would start thumping along with my heartbeat 😁 )
That throbbing sensation can be incredibly annoying, but once you get on beta blockers, everything pretty much goes back to normal. 😉

For about a week now, I’ve been feeling this intense pulsing sensation in my abdomen—almost like I can actually feel my heartbeat thumping right there in my gut—and on top of that, my lower abdomen just feels constantly bloated. I guess I'm wondering if this is something I should be genuinely worried about and go see a doctor for? Thanks in advance for any insight you all might have.

Hey everyone, I’m somewhere in my early twenties... anyway, earlier today, I started feeling this weird pulsing sensation right near my heart area, specifically on the left side just below the heart, tucked between those last two ribs, and when I actually press my finger against the spot, it feels like something is throbbing there, sort of an irregular rhythm where it shifts from fast to slow, almost as if something is trying to burst out 😁 I checked my pulse at the time and everything seemed fine... honestly, the best way I can describe the sensation is like having a second heart beating inside me... it’s just a deeply uncomfortable feeling, to say the least... If anyone happens to know what might be causing this, please let me know, th😁ank 🙂 you
