Just did a little reading on this disease and now I'm wondering—anyone here actually dealing with this infection? Is there even a cure? If you catch it, how much does it actually mess with your "normal life," and what are we talking regarding life expectancy? I just ate some homemade jerky today from a place I'm not even sure follows health codes, my stomach is already acting up, and now I'm low-key panicking.😁

I've been doing some reading on this particular infection lately, which has me wondering if anyone here is actually dealing with it? Is there even an effective treatment available? If someone does catch it, how much does it actually interfere with daily life, and what kind of prognosis are we looking at in terms of lifespan? I just ate some homemade jerky from an unknown source, and now that my stomach is acting up, I’m starting to spiral a bit.😁

I don't think you have anything to worry about. Still, go see a doctor to get it checked out early if possible—that's when treatment actually works, and you'll be fine. Besides, our medical system is world-class, obviously. :irony:
